This is a great place for lunch especially after a walk along the Willamette River Esplanade. You have beautiful views of the river, marina and three bridges. The menu has options for everyone liking soup, salads, sandwiches or wraps. My eggplant wrap with caramelized onions, jack cheese and pesto aioli was excellent. The Tomato-Gorgonzola was also tasty. It had chunks of tomato which I liked versus a blenderized version.
We stopped infor aweekday lunch when there were 3 other small parties at the restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and we were served promptly. The dining area is cute and functional offering limited views of the water. The outdoor tables are really the draw. They look out over the marina and are split by the kind of esplanade walk/bikeway. Google map incorrectly puts this restaurant off the walkway, down closer to the water, but it is tucked into the shops and services on the walkway. The lavatory needed some basic attendance, with toilet paper on floor, less thansparkling sink, and akind of a beaten up look to it. The food and drink selection was impressive given a restaurant of that size.We ordered thebleu (blue cheese) burger, and a spinach salad. The burger was delicious, the onions were hot and worked well, the blue cheese crumbles were a bit dry and maybe could have been warmed a bit more, but they were fine. In hindsight, the taste would have been more balanced with the acidity of a tomato. The bun was spot on, like a light brioche. The spinach salad was a bit of a disappointment. While spinach was fresh and filling, small mounds of shredded carrots did not help the fusion, nor did the Greek olives do anything to marry flavors. It felt a bit light a salad for a strict diet..oh, with three black olives. Better would have been some toasted pine nuts or some crunch of fat that might be optional, or even a dollop of chevre. The three small slices of bread looked great, theyheld promise buttasted a bitstale. The breakfast options look like their strength. The food was priced well given their touristy location and I believe they are worthyofa second chance.
Decent food, wouldn’t ever make a trip of it but one of the better places in the immediate area. I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast, however the twice baked potatoes are great.
Thumbs up but not by much. First of all, this is a GREAT place to go when the suns out. they’ve got lots of seating out on the sidewalk facing the river and the setting is very nice. the staff was super-helpful too. what was missing was the amazing food that was pictured on their website. though my sandwich was fine/good it wasn’t nearly as awesome looking as what I was expecting after looking at the cure website. the chicken salad was very good though
We visited Little River Cafe three times today (7/4/13) and were so pleased with the service and quality of food each time! One of the employees even remembered my husbands name when he came back the second time. That’s pretty impressive with how many people had been in that night. We will definitely be in again!!
Great summer spot and nice to be able to sit on the boardwalk. Food is ok but nothing too fancy.
