I didn’t see the complaints about service in here justified. Normally that’s a big criticism of mine as well, but my part was checked on several times, water glasses were never empty, and the bartender was affable and talkative when interacting. The service we had was really good.

Private Party. Hey guys, maybe you could mention when you’re having a private party on the website so we don’t drive an hour to find a CLOSED sign.

We went around 5 PM on a Wednesday so it was not a problem getting seating at the bar , the two appetizers we had were excellent , dates wrapped in bacon and olives with a sort of a spicy chili .The whiskey selection is unparalleled and they also offered some rums some tequilas and other high-end spirits for sipping ,brandies cognacs and such. I thought the music was out of sorts with the whole atmosphere but thats personal i supose. It was a nice place to visit and I do see myself going back but it would be maybe in the winter late at night when I just want to have a nice scotch!

Loved It All!. I loved the warm old world feeling in this special new place. Great spot to relax with friends. It has an eclectic combination of beautiful English antiques that make you feel like this bar has been around for a long time. Oversized fireplace will be very welcoming on our cold and wet Oregon nights. The drinking options are endless, and the menu offered a nice mix of dishes for appetizers or a dinner. Fun to share plates at our table too. Our servers were really nice, attentive but not overly so. I liked how it was not a loud and overcrowded space. We could actually enjoy a conversation over delicious drinks and food. I am excited to go back and try new tastings. Again, Portland is on the map for having something unique!

Terrible first impression. We went. We have been anticipating the opening. Not sure that we’ll go back. VERY rude and disrespectful staff at the door that disdainfully looked down at me and said it was a 3 1/2 hr wait. Fine..that actually wasn’t the issue. We thought that we may not get in the first night. He was the worst host I’ve run across. There is no way I can capture his look and his tone in this message. There was no greeting and no explanation like, we are really sorry we’d love to have you as you can see we are really busy our first night… please come another night, no nothing… he looked at me like I shouldn’t be there and said nothing. I’ll also add we are in our 40’s and dressed very nicely for what we normally see around Portland. We’ll see if he’s so proud of himself and the business in 6 months. He certainly doesn’t care about keeping good paying customers around for a future visit.
