Their food happy hour used to be the best in-town, but as word spread, the quality began to decline. It was a losing proposition for the restaurant, as they were serving high quality dishes for just a couple of dollars. It got people to visit, but it’s less busy now that their happy hour isn’t as extravagant. The food is generally good, but overpriced. The staff is stellar and most are wine savvy. Their wine selection is one of my favorites in all of Portland. The bar staff is accommodating and very knowledgeable. The restaurant space is large and very elegant. The bar area is half lounge and half sports bar. There are old photos and fish decorations across most of the walls.Definitely worth a visit, but only during happy hour. Note that happy hour is only honored in the bar area, which is huge and has plenty of seating options (booths, tables, and bar seating).
Solid experience as always. Great service and a decent happy hour menu. The food was good but nothing over the top like their steakhouse.. Probably will only make it back for happy hours.
Great dinner. Enjoyed our seafood and dining experience.
Oh my this was wonderful. Corporate dinner but food didn’t slip. Walk around apps were good but the small ahi taco was great. Wonderful spice and a finger taco had about 5 or 6 of these. Onion rings were very good. Light batter very crispy and the two sauces nice complement to the rings. Lobster soup was amazing very smooth but almost a bisque small chunks of lobster with a powerful lobster flavor. Maybe best I’ve ever had. Main was rockfish and it was very enjoyable. Dessert was almond cake with banana. I ate it all. Will be back with the wife .
A fish restaurant with great steak.. We had lunch mid week & it was pretty quiet. So a cosy meal for 2 while it was raining outside, wait staff were smart & well educated on the menu and wine too. Had the signature truffles fries with crab for starter which was (as our server warned us thank goodness) big enough to share & sooooo delicious. Unfortunately we then had the del monico steak which was delicious but came with MORE fries. Note to self read menu more carefully! Would have been nice with vegetables in my opinion. Remedied with a green side salad which came quickly. Standouts were the sauces which were fantastic & the truffled fries with Dungeness crab. Only minus was the fries were way way too salty.
Awesome service by John. Amazing ribeye, fantastic cioppino with prawns that were as fresh tasting as the ones I used to catch in Prince William Sound in Alaska. Highly recommend this pkace.
Extra charge for drinks. Decent restaurant, but we will NEVER go back. My husband ordered 2 martinis and asked our waiter to not add any Vermouth. We were shocked to see a charge of $ 2.50 per martini for NOT adding the vermouth! (the martinis were $ 8.50 each). We were told that they had to add more liquor and that was the reason. But isn’t vermouth liquor? So paid $11 for a drink. Manager would not remove charge. They will not see us again.
