Was incredibly pleased to find the VG just a block from the Portland Hilton. A very helpful young man at the counter assisted in my selections; I only wish I had several mores meal in town before leaving! First meal: the tempura green beans were beautifully cooked, smooth and creamy in the center with a crunchy coat; I doused them with the juice of the grilled lemon and the garlic ranch dipping sauce- superb! The Sonoran bowl was a well spiced Mexican flavor beautifully balanced textures and flavors. The second visit I enjoyed the Masala bowl- good Chana masala (although not as great as my own) and some amazing turmeric roasted cauliflower (good enough that I experimented with making it at home); I had this with the addition of crispy tofu at the advice of my guide delightful. THINGS LEFT UNEATEN: With not enough remaining visits, and generous portions, I didnt get to these guide favs: fresh pea guacamole with plantain chips, Bulgogi beef protein bowl, grilled quinoa and veg burger with added avocado, and the Santa Fe crispy chickn with Gouda cheese. We dont have the VG in Virginia Beach, but I will bolo for their chain elsewhere, and report back on the remaining items! The cardboard bowls and biodegradable plastic ware made me pleased, as I needed to take out.
