How the mighty have fallen! Mazatlan was once my favorite restaurant in Central Oregon, but it has deteriorated significantly. On our latest visit, April 24th, we had slow, dismissive service, runny salsa, greasy chips, and meager portions. I ordered the Chili Verde, which I have had and enjoyed before, but this was not Chili Verde which should be a dish slow-cooked in the chili creating a fusion of flavors. This was overcooked pieces of pork with green chili sauce poured on top.It’s sad that they have lowered their standards. I hope they will get back to their roots.
Good food, great service. Stopped on a Saturday night and it was not crowded so we had some doubts. But we are glad we stayed. The service was very good – constant attention. Food was way better than your average Mexican and pricing was reasonable. Several families showed up after we arrived so it seems family friendly. There’s a bar as well. As mentioned below, you have to have the Guacamole Fresca if you stop here as it was both a fun experience and very tasty. Ask if you want something hot or mild – we did both due to our varied desires and we were satisfied with the response.
Great ambiance and decor. Food was excellent and service was both friendly and good. Would go back when next in Redmond.
Excellent Guacamole Fresca!. Made table-side with fresh ingredients! REALLY good! Add a side of whole black beans with corn chips and you’re good to go! Very accommodating staff as well!
