This is my third favorite thai restaurant in Portland. The first two are Paadee and PokPok Noi. This place is cheaper and great for that day when you just don’t feel like cooking. Make sure to ask for the spice level you want ior they will default to none. Medium was pretty spicy enough for me.
Cha’ Ba serves beautifully presented food with intense Thai flavors. They also serve some different specials like Po Pia Sod which is a fresh roll in a tamarind sauce topped with crab and the stir fried curry beef topped with crispy basil that is fiery hot. The service is great too.
Delicious and Authentic. This was fantastic Thai food. The Tom Yum soup had huge vegetables and nice big pieces of chicken. The broth was perfectly seasoned and didn’t need anything. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice had huge shrimp in it and a ton of flavor. My server was attentive and friendly and the restaurant was busy with people enjoying their food. Huge portions left me with enough for lunch and dinner the next day. Will definitely come back here.
