I came to Clydesdale for my 3 year anniversary with my fiancee, and during Portland Dining month in February. We were sad we could not sit in the dining room. The hostess said we needed a reservation, but I don’t remember seeing that anywhere. It was also a Tuesday and didn’t seem to be overly busy. We sat in the bar area at a small booth. Low lighting and near a pretty fireplace. We ordered steamed clams and the prime rib special for Portland Dining Month. The service was cruddy. I don’t think I would go back, even though the food was very good.

The hostess was curt about the situation. I get it, make more dollars with a crowd, but still seems off putting. Sayler’s seem to take me solo in their dining room. No more going to Clyde’s, group or solo.
