After being………. Being stood up during advertised hours at the new Mo’ Cheese Dogs food cart and with my nose more than a little out of joint about it, I needed the calming effects of some good, cheap comfort food.I had their Tacos de Carne Asada witch were stellar, as usual. These delicious morsels are loaded with flavorful Marinated Beef, Onions, Cilantro and served with Lime Wedges. At $1 each you can pig completely out for a fiver and walk away with a happy tummy and a happy wallet! You know the place is good when Hispanic folks are stacked up at the counter every time you go there. La Concentida Carniceria always delivers the goods!18 Dec, 2011Since I hadn’t been here for……… And the wonderful Tacos and Pork Tamales haunt my memory, I whipped in for lunch today.Sadly, the buttery Tamales are no longer available, but I treated myself to one Carne Asada, one Carnitas and one Lengua Taco. They were double wrapped and loaded with Cilantro an Onion and came with Lime Wedges and a good Salsa Verde. The counter people were cordial and I was lucky enough to secure one of the two tables available for eat-in diners. The goodness of all the Tacos went a long way toward dispelling my sadness at loss of the Tamales. I understand the person who made them is pregnant. I can only hope she may resume their preparation at some future date. This is good, authentic Mexican food. Oh, and the Tacos are $1 each!05 Dec, 2010Some of the best…………. Tacos and Tamales in town! I think the reason this place is such a well kept secret is that it looks like, and is, a butcher shop. You have to get inside and past the refrigerated cases filled with beautiful cuts of meat and see the two tables tucked away in a back corner before it begins to dawn on you that ready-to-eat food can be had here. I had two Pork and one Beef Taco and amazing Tamale. The Tacos were double wrapped in soft corn Tortillas overstuffed with meat, onions and cilantro and served with Salsa Verde and lime wedges. Fantastic! I also sampled their excellent Fried Pork Rinds and a Fried Pork Fat that I have never had before. It was good, but a guaranteed butt builder best left alone.

Hands Down. Hands down my favorite authentic mexican food in Salem or anywhere for that matter. As posted prior, one must eat here in moderation or you will not be able to fit through the door. The pricing cannot be beat. I can feed my family of 5 for under $20 including real Glass bottles of Pepsi and we all leave full. As for the cuts of meat…. after price shopping, my next trip will be a multi-purpose venture.
