Perseverance and simple minded optimism… Finally paid off today!I knew that somewhere, sometime, after more disappointments than I can count, I would find a Chinese buffet where the food is fit to eat. China Buffet qualifies. They have four double sided steam tables, so the selection is quite extensive. For one oclock in the afternoon it all looked remarkably fresh. I was greeted and seated by a pleasant young man. The two women I briefly interacted with were taciturn, which I believe is a prerequisite for working in Chinese buffets. I had Mussels, Dry Sauted Green Beans, Chow Mei Fun (Rice Vermicelli and Napa Cabbage), Japanese Chicken (Teriyaki),shells-on Shrimp, Breaded and Baked Shrimp, Veg Lo Mein (Yakisoba Noodles) and a couple of bite sized desserts. Of course, being steam table fare, it was warm but not hot. No buffet will ever be able to give you what a good-cooked-to-order Chinese restaurant can produce. But this one is as good as Ive found in some time.
