Carrying On the Family Tradition. We were passing by this new taqueria on Silverton Road today and decided to check it out. When we walked in the door we were met by a colorful, pleasant space, and a smiling face who we recognized behind the counter. It was the young woman who has served us many times at Junior’s Taqueria. She and her brother have opened up this new taqueria on Silverton Rd. near the State Fairgrounds. The menu had a few things we recognized from Junior’s but some different things as well. They have birria de chivo (stewed goat) and birria de res (stewed beef) on the weekends. They have only been open a week and are still getting settled in, but we wish them them the best. This is a good neighborhood location for a taqueria away from all the competition on Lancaster. Go give Gavi’s a try.
