Slow start, got much better quickly!. Walking in I thought this place may be a bust. The woman at the front counter did not say a word to us when we walked in, then proceeded to the back. No eye contact, no nothing.Once my girlfriend and I decided what we wanted it all changed. She smiled and asked a bit about us and exchanged pleasantries. I think she is just a gal who gets a bit wrapped up in what she is doing and gets too focused. Afterwards we order.I ordered tempura udon, which was awesome. First off, it came out piping hot! It had a fish based broth with nice and chewy noodles. If you’re unfamiliar with udon they are thick noodles. Along with a few other items it came with a piece of meat I am unfamiliar with, but good and fried battered shrimp. The batter came apart in the broth which I enjoyed because it soaked up the broth really well. The girlfriend, and always giving the opportunity, ordered sushi. I’m always skeptical of ordering sushi at any place other than a location who specializes in sushi. However, I was pleasantly surprised yet again. The ingredients were kept at a good temperature (not cold from the fridge nor warm). The rice had a light sweet flavor and wonderfully sticky. Loving rolls, but hating cucumbers, my girlfriend was picking the cucumbers out of her rolls. The woman from the counter smiled and said next time if she would prefer, she could make it without. That right there made me very happy with the place, the willingness to make the customer happy.Although neither of us ordered it, it is a teriyaki joint, but as you read before, there are other dishes as well that are quite enjoyable.
