KYOTO of Salem. This really isn’t an opinion of the food because I was never able to reach anyone over the phone to try to make a reservation or at least talk to someone. I received an unfriendly voicemail telling me the rules, not thanking me for potential business, and never did get a call back. I assume they don’t need my business. Other reviews I’ve read state this restaurant wasn’t worth the high price even if the food is good.
It’s been some time……………… Since I’ve been here. I left thinking the food was good but quite expensive. But I think the entertainment value of the rather flamboyant performance by the teppanyaki chef must be factored in, making the ticket shock a little more palatable. You may notice, however, that, to date, I haven’t been back.
Sushi and Sashimi is the best in town. They are not cheap, but you get great quality on a steady basis. You can’t say that for the other places around town. They have grilled saba(fish) which no one else has. Yet that is a staple in the japanese diet. They even have grilled collars when available. Hard to tell I like fish right. I think the sushi rolls are great too.
