A simple but delicious snack!. I was in the area and in the mood for a little something. I have had a couple of big and wonderful lunches here in the past, but have never tried the ever staple Taco’s.The same demure senorita who had served me before was behind the counter. I ordered a brace of Tacos de Carne Asada. Soon she delivered them to my table. They were double Corn Tortilla wrapped and the Grilled and Marinated Beef was topped with Chopped Onions and Cilantro. On the side were Lime Wedges, Radish Slices, longitudinally sliced Grilled Jalapenos and a Grilled Onion Wedge. She also provided three varieties of Salsa. I remembered the excellent Salsa Verde from previous visits and was all over it.It would take several of these tasty treats to make a satisfying meal, but at a buck each, a fellow can fill up and it still won’t break the bank!22 Aug, 2011Amecameca’s recent research……….. Will pay dividends for many of us. It already has for me. I usually waste little time in following his advice, and time and again this has proven a prudent course. Today, at his advice, I had the Torta Ahogada! Oh man! Amecameca’s photo says plenty, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this sauce. It’s spicy and vinegary and totally new to me. The Pork Marinate and the sauce intermingle beautifully and the soft Roll tames the spiciness just little without compromising the flavor. This has to rank highly on the list of $6 and under lunch bargains in the Cherry City!Once again, my thanks to Amecameca!13 Aug, 2011Costillas de Puerco…… En Chile Verde! Pork Ribs in Green Chile served with Rice, Beans and a hand full of hot soft Corn Tortillas. These are some good eats. For the type of place, it has an extensive menu. I’ll be back again to try some of the other interesting dishes. This eatery is in the back of yet another Mexican bodega. There is plenty of seating where you can enjoy your meal inside. The place also has a big fresh Meat department and fresh baked goods along with the typical Mexican grocery store items. The food in this kind of place is almost always very authentic and very good. This one was no exception.
