Conveyer belt style sushi. So for the most part I can say is not bad. I tend to have a love-hate relationship with conveyer style sushi joints. Most places with the conveyer belt tend to have poor quality food or sits too long.Sushi Takara’s food was reasonably fresh. I did not love the options for the conveyer belt. It mostly had what most people want, which is expected, rolls. I tend towards specialty items and nigiri (slab of fish on rice). However what I did eat was prepared well and the fish was a good temperature. Nothing I hate worse is eating room temperature sushi! The service was friendly and inviting. If I’m in the area again and have a hankering for sushi, I would probably stop again for food.

Not bad at All. I kind of like this little sushi restaurant. It does not knock Fuji Rice Time Out of the number one spot, but I would say it’s the second best choice for sushi in Salem. The restaurant is really clean with nice decor and the staff is very friendly. Most of the sushi they serve is inexpensive conveyor belt stuff, unimaginative and boring but cheap as hell. The fish seems to be of a good quality. However, you can order custom-made rolls fancy that are quite good. I will visit this place again.

Consistently good. Sushi Takara is really settling into a solid sushi restaurant. The quality is consistently good and they have a nice variety on the belt. They will make anything you like to order as well. I’ve been several times since they opened and have been quite pleased each time. This is a really nice place and a great place for inexpensive sushi.28 Apr, 2014Back for a 2nd time. Super-excited about this place. Sushi Takara is coming into its own. Their menu is maturing and they are getting more variety. I ordered the Tuna Lover’s Roll and WOW! was it great. 3 kinds of tuna all in one great roll.It looks like they’re tweaking the happy hour and everything is 1 price from 11:00 until 4.Check this place out for some reasonably priced and good quality sushi!20 Apr, 2014Just opened today — solid start!. I was craving sushi tonight and was pleasantly surprised to find that Sushi Takara opened today. They have done a nice job on the decor for this track-style sushi joint. The fare was somewhat similar to that of Sushi Kyo with some interesting twists. One offering had deep fried carrot on top of the sushi that gave it a really unique flavor. For this first day of operation, everything else seemed to be pretty standard. But not in a bad way. I’m looking forward to seeing how they distinguish themselves as the get established. They offer a great happy hour price $1.50 for any item from 2-4 every day. Definitely worth returning for that. They’re off to a good start!

Love this place!. If you like quick, easy, and tasty sushi, you can’t go wrong here. Sushi is prepared and put on a conveyor belt and you can take what you want and you pay by the plate. Most plates are $1.50-$1.85 during their extended happy hours. Definitely a place to visit if you’re a fan of sushi!

A diamond in the rough. I would never had seen this restaurant if a student had not recommended it as It is tucked behind Walgreen’s on Lancaster. When we arrived we were very impressed by the beautiful, traditional interior decorations. The friendly staff also greeted us, including the three sushi chefs, as we entered. The booths are extremely comfortable and everything is extremely clean and neat. When we began to eat I was first impressed by the variety of the dishes (there were several that I had never seen before) and then by the extreme freshness and excellent flavor. Even though I live out South, this is definitely my new sushi destination in Salem.
