The food is hit and miss. It is just not consistent. Tonight the food was not very good. And I hate being nickel and dimed. The extra plate charge offends me. Especially when my child ate nothing and the extra plate wasn’t asked for or used.The service was not satisfactory. It was neglectful to say the least!
Sure hard to review food when…. I was seated then given ice water and a small bowl of soup, but as I watched the third group in a row come in after me and get their orders taken I couldn’t help but wonder what I’d order if I was even given a menu. Number 4 came in and was taken care of, at this point I got up and went next door do Las Paloma’s and had great service and good food.
It has slipped a bit.. A couple of years ago, I ate here and was very favorably impressed. A couple of months ago, I was looking forward to another positive experience but was disappointed with the general neglect of the place. It can only be described as dirty. Can’t handle that in an eating establishment.(Note added 6/6/10: Their health department inspection of 4/13/10 gave them a score of 75. Below 70 is failing.)
Thai Beer in Lancaster. This is really good Thai food and I don’t mind going back again and again. I do not like the one they opened on Wallace Road in West Salem. I assume it is the same owner. The food in West Salem Thai Beer is terrible. The phad thai was horrible. Nothing but a glob of noodles sticking together. They give you a big plate of it too. I’d rather have a small plate with better quality of ingredients. I will nt go back to that place again.
Foods alright for Thai. Prob thr best in Salem which isn’t saying much. We don’t eat meat and they cooked our food in the deep fat fryer with all the other pork so we got sick.
About the rice. In asian countries, such as Thailand, it is traditional to serve the rice on the side. The rice should never be covered.
Lots of good food, mediocre service.. My mother and I went here today to try it out. We had never really had Thai food. My mother ordered the BBQ Combo and I had Broccoli, Spinach and Carrots covered in Peanut Sauce with Fried Rice. I was a bit surprised that the rice wasn’t mixed in with the vegetables and peanut sauce but served in a separate bowl.I have to tell you they served us each enough food for two people. And the utensils were so large that we thought they were serving ladles. We should have just ordered one item off the menu payed the $1 for the extra plate and split it. Needless to say we both have dinner for tonight. We both liked the food and it was hot.The service was ok but could have been better. They didn’t anticipate our needs so I had to ask for refills on our drinks.But overall I would go back there and try it again. If your in the area give it a whirl.
