We.stopped here for lunch. We were greeted immediately and were seated. Very friendly server came with warm smile. We ordered clam chowder with salad combo. Clam chowder was definitely the highlight of the dish and salad came with shrimp which was a nice surprise.
We had a late lunch at Norma’s on a Thursday afternoon in October. We were seated promptly and given menus by the host. Then there was an inordinately long wait till our waitress arrived. We were starting to wonder if something was wrong when I heard one waitress ask another if we were her table. After that, service was great. I think there was just an early communication error such that she didn’t know we were there.For lunch we ordered Clam Chowder, the clam strips with fries, the fried combination and the Cajun combination which includes halibut, oysters, scallops, rock prawns & squid. The chowder was amazing. Tons of clams, creamy, buttery, delicious. Some of the best chowder I’ve ever had. The Cajun combination is sauteed in Cajun spices. Again incredible flavor and a great variety of seafood. The combination breaded and fried was fine, but not nearly as remarkable as prepared Cajun style. Likewise the breaded and fried clams were fine but not noteworthy. The fries were a little thicker than I like. The bread was underwhelming. The chowder and the Cajun combination were the definite stars.
Mediocre food, average service and totally overpriced and overrated. Please don’t waste your time here. $24 for a sad plate of bland looking and tasting (never mind the presentation) calamari and fries. Not acceptable. If you are into good food, stay away from here.
