I stopped in for lunch. The prices are high. The food was small and mediocre. I was not impressed at all. Apparently the breakfasts are better, but I was there for lunch. I don’t think I need to return.
Excellent service. Great food, especially the steak and the pancakes. I would definitely recommend them!
Too crowded and food not worth the price. Service was slow and you can see through the plates. Don’t drink the coffee… It’s watered down.
Approach this restaurant and manage your expectations. The interior is really nice and so is the staff. The waiter went as far as brewing me another cup of coffee so I could enjoy proper java experience. Request the gourmet coffe it’s pretty good 7/10. However, the main course is a different story. I ordered the egg benedict with crap and went as far as to ask is the crap fresh(yes was the answer). Well the meal arrived rather quickly but it appeared as if a grenade went off in my plate. Crab was tossed every where and the eggs were hanging on to dear life. The crab was over cooked possibly recooked in my opinion and the english muffin was dreadful. The home fries were far from home lacking flavor or substance(bland). My wife ordered the veggie omelette and what arrived was strange to say the least. The omelette contained undercooked broccoli, zucchini (weird), squash (weird), and onions. This really seemed like a veggie medley best serviced with lunch or dinner. There price are higher than $10 a person even when ordering from the kids menu (odd) but should be expected due to proximity to the beach. I would place this restaurant comfortably on par with a Denny’s or IHOP. Additionally, our waiter was very defensive and delusional about the qaulity of their fresh fruit(scary). Not a bad place just don’t set your expectations to high or you will be disappointed.
Quality American Breakfast Whenever You Want, Seaside Tradition. If you don’t know what to eat at the many choices along the Seaside strip, you can not go wrong with the classic, down home, American tastes of Pig ‘n Pancake. For years I have enjoyed their many meals from biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes, to chicken friend steak. I have never had a bad meal. Apart from breakfast meals, they also serve lunch sandwiches, soups, and dinners (though if you order the breakfast items, they are cheaper then the dinner versions, which can be very similar). Meals are always very good, solid, and cooked as you like. They will fill you up, and you can easily feed a family of three for under $25 dollars. It is reasonably priced, if not cheap on some things, and the portions are extremely hearty and filling. Some of their specialities are their pancakes and waffles, which are good to douse in their renown syrups. Their chicken friend steak is how a cubedsteak should be, crispy, tasty, and filling.Pig ‘n Pancake is like a classic American diner (though they are about to remodel), with prime real estate in downtown Seaside, you can’t miss it. It is a staple visit every time, and a great tradition. I think you will like it too.
Had a Denver omelet, it came out quick and tasted great. Service was very pleasant. Downside was the coffee tasted burnt because it was brewed way too hot.
We stopped here for breakfast and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Dungeoness Crab and it was amazing! My eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise was flavorful and the English muffin was toasted nicely. My boyfriend ordered the blueberry waffle and it was very tasty. The waffle wasn’t very puffy since they didn’t use a Belgian waffle but the blueberry compote was perfect. Often times fruity compotes will be overly sweet but this was spot on. Overall, we always have a great experience at Pig ‘N Pancake and it is a necessary part of every beach trip we make.
