One of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten.. Note to self; don’t ever pay $25 a plate when you are seated by a gal wearing a duck’s sweatshirt and yoga pants. Outside the atrocious attire of our hostess we received excellent service. My man friend ordered the chicken and shrimp entree and I ordered the caprese salad. Both were delivered in a reasonable time. My salad looked deceivingly appetizing and the entree looked regurgitated. The tomatoes in my salad were mealy and over-ripe, the cracked black pepper was the only break from the mushy texture of the plate and the balsamic reduction was overly sweet. On the entree, my fork could barely sever the severely overcooked shrimp. All in all, the only food we could even stomach was the breadsticks they served while we waited and the decently cooked chicken in sauce a la vomit.
Great Experience. After Reading most of the reviews in this site I had reservations about going here for my wife’s Birthday dinner while were in Seaside but we decided to give it a try. Granted it was the end of January. But we found quite the opposite of the negative reviews that I had read prior to eating dinner here. The service was very good, the food was fresh and hot, the fresh vegetable medley was terrific, and the Onion rings that we had as an appetizer were among the best I have ever had! Disregard the bad reviews and take a chance. We were glad we did.
My Husband ordered a prime rib and it was tough, cutting through a sock is easier. The only thing that was good and had flavor was the seafood chowder. When I brought the situation about the steak to the waiters attention he did nothing about the lack of flavor and un-believable toughness of the steak. No credit was given on the bill and service was not good!
Only one server on a holiday weekend??. My husband and I took our two small children here for lunch on Sunday of Labor Day weekend only to wait 45 minutes to be served our burgers. The lobster sliders tasted good, but trying to keep two hungry kids entertained for that long was a nightmare. We were told that only one server was working and the kitchen was backed up. To add insult to injury, my daughter’s kids meal cost $9. She is only three years old!!! There was no offer to comp anything or even a sincere apology for our wait. We will not be going back.
Waited 15 to be served server not friendly at all. 3 customers in place it took 25 minutes to get food. Very over priced.
OK Food, Slow Service. We had lunch here while visiting in Seaside. The service was slow except the water. The waiter was slow to greet us, slow to take our order, slow to check on us after our food was delivered and slow to bring the check. Thank goodness we had cash or we might have had to have dinner there. We even watched a party of 6 walk out after waiting some time to be addressed and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. Yes, the service was slow. Except the water guy, he was on it! I wish he was our waiter. But what about the food? Mediocre at best. My wife had a house salad and a cup of lobster bisque. I had the Cesar salad with grilled salmon and a cup of lobster bisque. I won’t review the house salad, it was after all a house salad. The Cesar salad was ok. Dressing was a little on the salty side but not bad. The fish was cooked nicely. Too bad it was the size of your two thumbs put together. For the additional price to add the fish it was not a value. The bisque was decorated nicely but so sweet we could not eat it. They have a nice menu. I watched them lose the lunch crowd by having the dinner menu up front. No one ever looked at the lunch menu. The restaurant is decorated nicely. Put your lunch specials up front or rotate the menu and you could have the lunch crowd. Get a real waiter, a real chef and take advantage of a great location and you would have them coming back for more.
Ordinary and Unimpressive. For a steakhouse, the steak I received was ordinary at best. I ordered a ribeye done somewhere between medium rare and medium which means it should be nice and pink in the center. What I received was a steak somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thick and overcooked to the point it was white in the center, dried out and tough. It was also oversalted. For $27 I expected much better. I have eaten far better steaks for half the price at Outback Steakhouse which is an average quality chain restaurant.
