Won’t be back. To begin with, we were a party of 3 women. Place looked delightful upon entering. We sat outside, good atmosphere. Then it began. We were given, what I believe was a happy hour appetizer menu. At the bottom it stated that a $4 minimum drink purchase per person is required. Since none of us drink alcoholic beverages we had no options except to order 2 or more soda’s per person. My water glass had lipstick around the rim, grossed me out. There was no apology and waitress returned with new glass of water, without my lemon. There are no vegetables for any entre, you may order a salad, but the only dressing offered contains vinegar and I don’t like vinegar. I ordered the Halibut, the fish was delicious. The 2 sliced pieces of baked potato were bone dry, even with the sour cream and scallions on top.One of the ladies ordered the Bacon wrapped meatloaf. HELLO, there was No bacon around it, small pieces in the meatloaf. As she put her fork into the meatloaf it fell apart and looked like soup.
Superb Menu & Eclectic Wines…. Howard Hinsdale Cellars is Silverton’s hidden gem, tucked alongside the banks of Silver Creek, yet immediately located in the historic downtown.Charm oozes from every pore of this understated wine bar. The knowledgeable, experienced and hospitable owners carefully plan a wide-ranging gourmet menu (offerings range from Sage-grilled Steelhead over lightly dressed greens, Caprese Sandwich served with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes on grilled focaccia, homemade French onion soup, and delightfully fulfilling meat and cheese boards) to pair with the extensive wine list; happily many of the wines (which range from Oregon Pinots to Washington Cabernets and Argentinian Malbecs) are available by the glass. The bottles are priced so well, however, you may naturally wish to forgo the single glass.Hinsdale Cellars possesses a full license, so if you have a hankerin’ for that dry martini, your wish is their command. In the winter, the interior is Italian-esque cozy, with aged wine barrel tables and brick walls; when summer finally heralds her warm and bright arrival, you would be wise to grab a bottle and head to the charming deck, strategically built right over the rushing currents of Silver Creek. It’s heaven in more ways than one…
