Loved it!. I wish I could tell you all that it sucked and not have you show up so I could have it to myself! In truth I enjoyed it thoroughly. Very cool atmosphere, sort modern log cabin kind-of feel. Not easily to locate, it is off Madrona with no obvious signs. The waitress I had was over in perfect intervals asking if we needed additional drinks. She was wonderfully polite and friendly. My food was well prepared and out in a reasonable amount of time. For drinks I ordered an iced coffee on nitro (weird right?). It was Stumptown coffee which I enjoy and the nitro made it nice and smooth, no creamer or sweetener needed. The girl friend order a $10.00 bloody mary. They garnish it with three dates wrapped in bacon and stuffed with blue cheese. It was amazing! I could hear myself getting fatter as I ate it! The bloody mary she loved. My opinion it was seasoned well, but lacked heat. I like my marys spicy! For food I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the girlfriend ordered a cubano. I tend to be real hesitant in ordering anything BBQ related in the NW because it is normally just meat covered in BBQ sauce. This was still along that line, but the meat was well made and the sauce was wonderfully tangy. Also they actually put coleslaw on the sandwich. To me this is a must in a pulled pork sandwich. I asked for clam chowder on the side. I prefer my clam chowder reeking of clams and this was not. It was more of the milky creamy type. So depends what you’re into. The girlfriend’s cubano which consisted of black forest ham, pulled pork, bacon, picklechips, and some type of sauce served on chipata bread. She regretted being so full and not being able to finish it! Overall a great time, a bit spendy, but worth the money in my opinion. So please, do not go here so I may have it to myself and will not be busy!

Salem’s hidden Jem. I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is great, the food is made with local ingredients & they have unique beers. I like that they don’t stick with the same old thing you can get anywhere else & they get creative with their menu. I’ve seen service be a little slow when it’s jam packed on Friday nights in the summer or if it’s an off time of day and they only have a couple people working, but the same can be said for any other restaurant. All the staff I’ve interacted with are very friendly; I’ve had especially good experiences when I’ve been waited on by Matt and Cali, ask for one of them!

I want to love this place. The patio is awesome, and they have a huge menu. However…the fish tacos were super underwhelming, as was the Mac n cheese. The spinach dip was good, and the house salad was good (I mean, it’s a house salad…) anyway, I’ll give it another try. Maybe it’s a burger and sandwich place only?

Inconsistent. I have been here at least 6 times, 2 of which I would count as enjoyable. The staff seems inexperienced yet improving. The food is the main concern. I have noticed that the products seem to be frozen not fresh. That may seem picky to some, but a $12 burger needs to be fresh, especially a $12 Salem, Oregon burger.I have never been too impressed with some of their beers as I don’t normally look for beers made with out hops. I can, however, appreciate the broad appeal that their lineup of beers has. I have given Gilgamesh a thumbs down but I have to say that I am not against coming back due to the atmosphere and the availability of Beer, Wine as well as a full bar. To sum it up in one thought I would say that Gilgamesh is doing well in spite of itself. I hope they can look outside of the sales numbers and see that they have room for improvement in their food service and menu.

Don’t Bother. Poor Service, Fried Mushrooms had no seasoning. Burnt Hamburger, one hamburger served with onions when requested no to have onions. Told Server to cancel order and bring bill. They expected payment for food that was not received. Manager was no help at all. Will never be back there.

LOVE Gilgamesh!!. We love this place! It is close to my work, so whenever we have visitors – we bring them there. Wonderful atmosphere, service is always wonderful, and love their menu. Consistently great food – and love the beer of course :)During the sunny season, outside seating is fun. Love to sit by the fireplace! Cant wait to see the summer events they plan to do. LOVE GILGAMESH!I always recommend this for people to try, love supporting local business and families!
