Sorry, Love Love!. But I love Teriyaki Diner more! For some reason the chicken seems more fresh and well-cooked 🙂 and the Teriyaki sauce is to die for!
Good, but not………. A contender for Love Love’s top teriyaki spot. Unobtrusively tucked away in a strip mall on 25th just south of Mission this clean but rather stark eatery has eluded my attention for several years. At the suggestion of my nephew and fellow foodie, Scott Bradley, I tried this place today. I had their Spicy Chicken Lunch. ($7.50) Soy, Teriyaki and Sweet and Sour sauces were provided on the tables. This appreciated courtesy is not universal in local Teriyaki places. The rectangular plate was round on the bottom which created a spinning challenge easily remedied by wedging a folded napkin under the end. My chicken was served with generous helpings of rice and shredded red and green cabbage with Julienne Carrots. The cabbage, or the dressing on it, had a mustiness which I found slightly distasteful. A good lunch all in all. It has the added plus of being very near my work and three doors down from one of my favorite used book stores.
