Hit or Miss. We’ve been eating at Yummy Bowl since in opened in January. We only order the Chicken Yakisoba noodles. Much of the food is frozen as I have watched it prepared for others. We have stopped eating in restaurant as two different times, we have heard the cook/owner yell and berate the wait staff. It made me very uncomfortable. The size portions have been reduced since it first opened. We called tonight for a to-go order and the restaurant is closed, on a Saturday night.Wait staff is friendly, the Egg Flower soup is very good and we love the Yakisoba, but not much else anymore. The owner needs anger management or hire someone else to help with the stress.I would not be surprised if it goes out of business soon.
Super good food and friendly customer service
Here on a Friday night and the place is dead, which is surprising for how good the food is!
Love it. I work nearby and it’s hard to resist walking over to Yummy Bowl every break! I love their honey chicken and orange chicken. I’m not a huge fan of the teriyaki- it’s sweeter than I prefer but still good. The customer service has always been friendly and I can find nothing to complain about! Their sitting area is bright and clean so I don’t mind sitting in there with friends for lunch. It’s a great stop for reasonably priced Asian food!
Bad day?. I read the glowing reviews on here and decided I needed to give Yummy Bowl a shot. Sadly, this was a miss on all levels. The Crispy Salted Pepper Chicken was flavorful but incredibly greasy. The good potential for this dish was drowned out by the overwhelming presence of oil.And then there was the brown rice. After ordering I took my seat and then went for water and utensils. When I walked up to the counter, I saw the cook remove the rice – in a Styrofoam container – from the microwave. This is the rice I paid extra for. When it was served, it was predictably awful. I would have preferred they tell me they didn’t have any brown rice rather than have some Styrofoam microwaved mess totally devoid of flavor or anything remotely appetizing. The potsickers were deep fried and had a tiny pocket of meat inside. The flavor was decent. But they were served with teriyaki sauce! That was a first. And not a pleasant one.I’m hoping this was an off day for Yummy Bowl. But, sadly, it didn’t seem so. This part of town has a number of quality choices for Asian food. I’ll choose any of them over Yummy Bowl and wait for the next restaurant to open in this space before going back.
The salt and pepper crispy chicken is one of the best dishes I have eaten anywhere in a very long time. Yummy Bowl is clean and bright. I will be back.
Japanese or Chinese………… Name your poison!Just opened this week in the old Momiji location this little eatery is a winner. It’s clean and minimalist in dcor. One orders at the counter and the food is delivered to your table in the dining room in the back of the space. The enthusiastic gent who gave me a to-go menu yesterday was working the front.SWMBO had a combo plate ($8.95) with Crispy Salted Pepper Chicken, Butterflied Shrimp and Steamed Rice. It’s been a while since I’ve seen her rave about a dish like she did over this one. She’s definitely a fan! I had Yaki Soba Noodles with Chicken ($7.75). It too was well above average and had Shallots, Sweet Onion, Carrots, Broccoli, Mushrooms and Napa Cabbage. A little Sriracha sauce kicked it right up to my heat standard. My bride decided we will be regulars here. She’ll get no argument from me.
