Beautiful little restaurant with delicious food. It’s our second time here and we will be back.
Delightful Sole. It’s September 8th and the weather is lovely. No reservation but we got there about 6;30 and sat out on the patio under the tree. And they had sole! You don’t see that often and it was local, off the coast of Oregon. With Savoy cabbage, golden potatoes and casino clams (I asked the waiter if they played black jack, he laughed then explained what that was). Nice wine selection.
Disappointment. After being told that Recipe was a great place to eat we tried it but found the tables to be too close together, wobbly on the bottom and the top. The lamb dinner came out rare….most places ask you how you like your lamb done….I would not have chosen rare. Over all..we would not go back.
Special Getaway. We arrived to be the first guest on Saturday morning and had the perfect setting at a table by the window for two good freinds. Our waiter was so friendly and explained the menu items and guided our choices. We shared several things so we could try more items. Willapa Bay Oyster Stew, Buratta, Croque Madame, Duck Leg Confit. We really enjoyed the Marcon Almond Cake and coffee to top off the meal. For two ladies this was quite filling and a delicious experience.
Good food. Went on a Saturday night and the place was busy. Our service was very good. In fact the waiter talked us out of more food saying that we had ordered enough. Quality of the food was excellent. The onion tart was divine. Off menu special was a rabbit on orzo The orzo was great. Good spot to stop at when we are in the valley.
Private Party Dinner. We had the amazing opportunity to attend a private party at Recipe recently where Paul and Dustin out did themselves. Having not eaten here due to our busy schedule, we were delighted and amazed with evenings food preparations and service through out the evening. From the hors d’oeuuvres and Champagne to the delightful salads paired with amazing Burgundy and Oregon Pinot noir wines, to each different course carefully prepared to match our host and hostess wines.Recipe is a wonderful addition to the Willamette Valley Wine Country restaurants go to list. Thank you Paul and Dustin for making the Beck’s dinner party perfect!
Welcomed addition to the Newberg scene. There was a little confusion on who our server was initially. A couple of mistakes with the table setting and a menu issue.Very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I had the Croque Madame, it was delicious with the egg perfectly cooked. My friend had the Spicy Oregon Shrimp Tartine, she really enjoyed it. It was a pleasure having English sea salt table side, but I had to ask for it.
