My family and I went to Red Robins on a Saturday night, it was around 5:30. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait, but we looked around and half the restaurant had empty tables. Apparently there wasn’t enough waiters staffed that night to work all the tables. It is a disgrace that a big restaurant chain would be under staffed on a Saturday night during a dinner rush. The wait time was nor with it for us.
Mothra Says….Playground Environment. Coming home after a long drive recently, we found ourselves hungry for lunch. Wanting a couple of burgers to go but not the usual fast food burgers that can feel like a lead brick in your stomach, we dropped in at high noon on a recent weekend at Red Robin near Washington Sq. K and I looked at each other eerily as I opened the front doors to the restaurant. OMG! No less than 65 screaming kids and their exhausted parents (you know that look on a parents face?) running after each other, dining, and waiting their turn for a table. The good news for us was that we were not staying. We made our way to the bar as I felt the only option to order a lunch to-go was thru the bartender. Only fair thing to do however: I needed to order a beer. Were you aware that there are no small beers at Red Robin. I learned that on this fine sunny day in November. Quickly, two bar stools became vacant and I ran to place my lofty rear end on both. Good move. Still unable to locate Janice, the bartender, I found a very busy but kind hearted RR employee Melissa. She took my order, mentioned it would be 15 minutes. Janice dropped over to take my drink order. I asked for a small beer, you know 12 oz. Nope, Janice mentioned that her small beer was a 22 oz draft or a bottled beer. Sorry, but since moving to Oregon, why would I order a bottled beer? A draft is the only way to go. So K and I on a timeline attempted to drink that giant beer while we geared down from a long road trip. We did not make it. 15 minutes on the dot, Melissa swings by with our two burgers, and a large fry to go, and a smile. Tips all around as we made our way out of this large elementary school playground. How do you parents do it? (thats rhetorical, I dont want to know). At the casa de Mothra, we unwrapped these large cheeseburgers and fry. I will say that these Red Robin burgers are really delicious. Soft sesame bun, sauce, mustard, ketchup, onions, pickles, and cheese. And cooked slightly pink the way I like it. It is a lot of work to get your hands on them, but very, very tasty. Burgers, beer, fry, tips to Melissa and Janice. $27.00 out the door. Mothra says….well be back. 3.40 of 5.003 May, 2011Mothra Says…..Fresh Hot Burger.. I had a workout and a piece of toast at home. But around 1:30 Saturday afternoon & hungry, I asked K to meet me at Red Robin Hamburger Restaurant near Washington Sq in Tigard for a hamburger. The last time I walked into a RR was in Las Vegas probably 3 years back. It was as I recall a good burger.Although a few scattered screamin’ kids peppered the large restaurant, we were seated quickly and offered two rather large menus complete with color pictures…. I assume to assist those who are reading impaired.Ryan introduced himself with a large smile and a great attitude, showing us that he wanted to be there and, be in the customer service industry. He took our drink order then our food order shortly thereafter. 15 minutes later, our lunch arrived: K ordered a crispy cod fish sandwich with coleslaw inside and fries. She offered me a taste and it was hot, crispy and fresh. I may have that next time. I had the original cheeseburger with fries. About an 8-10 ounce burger served well. The fries were smoking hot to the touch. As you know if you are a long time reader of these pages, I like my food hot. Ryan checked back with us a couple of times, added some fresh hot fries to the table, and thanked us for coming. Well done.Good hot food, supoib service, good prices, minimal kid annoyances this visit. We’ll be back. Mothra says…..3.3 of 5.0.

Shari. We had a party of 20 we were all very stressed and had a family member in the hospital.. They had the best service I have seen in a long time… I highly recommend this place…. yummm
This place sets the standards for $10 burgers in my book. They got it right. Consistantly good with bottomless streak fries. Be sure to ask for the camp fire dipping sauce next time u are in
Consistent, Quality Burgers….. Ok, so I heart Cheeseburgers as much as any red-blooded American and would list it as my favorite food. (My second favorite is Mole Negro Oaxaqueno, just to give you a sense of my tastes) Red Robin is consistently a good burger with a lot of options and on top of it, they are VERY kid friendly. Having a 1 year old, it is not always easy to go out to haute avante-garde cuisine with my wife, but RR makes a burger that I feel good eating….and they will prepare it Medium-Rare, like it is actually medium rare not their litigious-phobic version of medium rare.I rate this highly in the category of kid friendly restaurants and even higher for semi-fast food burgers. In-N-Out is still my best of breed burger.
Good food. Maybe it’s me, but I hate spending $10 on a hamburger. And I usually don’t eat fries. And I wanted a drink but it was $4. I know, I’m very price conscious, but still, $10 is a lot for a burger. A good burger, but still a burger. Last nights service was good, friendly, not hovering, but there when we needed them. I would go back.
