Excellent service, friendly Staff, great food. large portions for the price. Everything is homemade and made to order. Family run and owned.
Geez!. I decided to try this place for a brunch gig, Never again, yea big plate, boring food, and I would never pay that kind of money again for some eggs with greasy sausage chunks in it! The pancakes were ok, hash browns were so-so, it was uncomfotable walking in and just sit down, cramped and felt like an outcast looking for a table, and Slow on even getting coffee and I’d pass on that!
Gross. The food portions are gigantic as you can tell by all of the obese patrons. I will NEVER step foot in this restaurant again. Horrible coffee. Horrible service. Bland and tasteless food. It looks more like a feed lot for cattle.
Good country kitchen. The breakfast is comfort food at its best and the servings are huge!! We love it. Warning- you will need a nap after eating breakfast here 🙂
God Awful Coffee but Great Food. God awful coffee — weak and flavorless (Love ya McRae’s, but it’s true). That sole complaint aside, McRae’s food is basic, but it is rib-sticking home cooking with huge portions, especially their legendary omelets. No splitting fee for sharing. I’ve read complaints that McRae’s is often over-crowded and there can be a wait for seating. Personally, I have dined at McRae’s on weekend mornings when the place has been packed and have never had to wait for a table or service. Menus are presented promptly, as is ice water and the offer of beverage. McRae’s is a small, family run business with a loyal clientelle. They are usually working at a dead run to accomodate everyone all the while remaining polite, pleasant, and professional and never fail to acknowledge a regular with a welcoming smile. Oh yeah, most dishes come with American Cheese. If you prefer cheddar as I do, you’ve got to ask for it.
LOVE McCrae’s. McCrae’s is the best place to have breakfast. Their omelet’s are not only huge but soooo good! They also have great chicken fried steak it’s taste is so good and it’s also so big it hangs over your plate! The only thing I don’t like about it so we don’t go as often as I would like is the prices are kind of high for a Ma and Pa type restaurant. But every time we do get to go it is a treat! Definitely recommend McCrae’s to anyone that wants good food and has a big appetite!
Greasy, no flavor, no character
