Gluten-Free (and Paleo), but Bland and Disappointing. I was excited to learn of a dedicated gluten-free street cart vendor since they are otherwise nearly all unsafe for a Celiac. We went to this location and ordered 3 different items. The bacon almond dates were good (really, how can anything with BACON not be good?), but the brocolli/brussells mash and the sweet potatoes were extremely bland, to the point of near tastelessness. Disappointing because I love sweet potatoes. If you’re near one and are hungry, it’s Celiac-safe, but I wouldn’t make a special trip. Extended review on our blog. glutenfreerv.com
Faked out!. I saw Alberta area and I got all excited. Didn’t know there was an Alberta in Portland! Wish you had meant Edmonton, Alberta, Canada…..your stuff sounds amazing! Guess I’ll have to catch you in Hawaii or California, as I don’t think you’ll be moving here any time soon!
Delicious. We made a special trip from the west side to check out the cart on Hawthorne. We got there just as she opened (11 a.m.) First and foremost, I don’t know when I have ever received more cheerful, enthused, courteous, and just plain FUN service. Secondly, the food was outstandingly good. We didn’t even get to eat it until we got back to Hillsboro, and went ‘yum….omg….oh wow…..yum’ all the way through the meal. We got the chicken tenders, the kale salad, the beet salad, and two coffees…all for $20, and all delicious. It’s so nice to have somewhere to go that we can eat primal and mostly local with confidence. The portion sizes are good, the prices are fair, the service I don’t think could be any better, and the food is very very good. We’ll be back. And I put in a heartfelt plea to open a cart downtown. 🙂
How could you not love it. Nice people, good honest food, fresh ingredients.. winning at life. YUM.
Warm Service and Delicious Paleo Eats. The owners, Heather and Joe, are delightfully personable, and their food is consistently hearty and delicious. I appreciate that there’s a reliable source in town where I can eat out and still stay Paleo.
