After having a conversation about the best fried chicken in Portland, two of my friends said Hat Yai made the best fried chicken. So I decided to try it. The chicken was perfectly crisp and the accompanying curry and dipping sauce were excellent. It was very fun to try this restaurant with Southern Thai cuisine. The staff were very friendly and when we ordered they were very helpful. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.

An Astounding Rip-OffYou tell me: A few slices of vegetable, sauce, a single small chicken thigh and a roti…$11.00. It was like the most expensive snack we had ever had. Probably cost them about $1.75 for ingredients and overhead. Also bought a soda water, handed over to me in a can with no glass or ice. Never, ever again.

Sister restaurant of Paadee and Langbaan. This is a casual, short menu restaurant with outdoor and counter seating. Food didn’t disappoint. Easy parking near Podnahs Pit

Holy cow. This place is a gem. The menu is limited in scope, focused on quality and great flavor. Turmeric, coconut and more flavors abound. My dish, beef rib in coconut, was fantastic. Each main was accompanied by pickle vegetables that balance the rich main. The padron pepper side dish was amply portioned for 2-3 partakers. I look forward to exploring the menu further.
