Good Eating. Wether it’s authentic or not doesnt really bother me, it’s price and the amount of what I am paying for, does. It’s a thin veneer of Mexican-American infused something or other, and it does it well. I enjoy going there because it tastes good, and even on the packed nights or days, the service is pretty quick and really friendly. Plus it’s like maybe five minutes walk from my house which is even better.

Scary bad. I feel sorry for the people who go to places like this and think it’s good. This is some of the cheapest (quality) Mexican food I have been unfortunate to taste and only the ignorant white yuppie masses who have taken over Alberta could think that it was good. Pobres gabachos! my abuelita would say. I don’t mind if you keep going there though, cuz that means less wait at the good places in town (of which there are only a few).

Bronze Medal. We know that we’re only cheating ourselves by ignoring the other Burrito Shacks around town and simply rotating between our 2 favorites. So in a effort to diversify a bit we made our way up to Alberta St. and laid down a few bucks at La Sirenita. Even though theyre on Alberta these guys have managed to retain a simple, nonchalant atmosphere that tenders large portions for very little money. In other words; this is not Por Qu No? And that is a good thing.I landed a Desebrada Wet Burrito, huge. Everything inside and out was up to snuff. Cheese up top was piled high, plenty of Sour Cream (pretty weak Enchilada Sauce though). Within the Tortilla there was a good mix of Shredded Beef, Rice and Beans. The Spicy Salsa was as advertised, delivering a nice sting to my lips. Ole Butterscotch Head had a BRC Burrito with a Tinga Taco, she had no complaints either. Our Mango Jugo took us back to our days in New Mexico. Overall, as far as Burrito Shacks go, these guys get it done. If I lived in the area I’d certainly come back. That being said; If I have to make a trek out to satisfy this particular craving; King Burrito is still the boss. Sorry guys.Grade: B (Its hard to beat the King) drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com

Just an old school taco house. Great if you want a cheap, basic Mexican fast food. In the mid-90’s, I lived in Phoenix, and there was a great chain of 24hour mom and pop taco houses. Sure the buildings where never anything special to look at, but for a couple bucks, you could get a burrito that will fill you and still have leftovers for lunch the next day.La Sirenita completely takes me back to those days. Cheap, but delicious eats. Burrito’s and taco’s stuffed with rice, meat and veggies, while not being drowned in sour cream and re-fried beans, while my wife loves the fish tacos. This place has been around for years, and has survived through many different changes in the neighborhood (I won’t get into the political or moral matter s of that issue) for good reason, because anybody can come in and feel comfortable. They are open late (which great for late night bar hoping) and within an easily accessible part of Alberta street.Added bonus: right next door to an excellent donuts/ice cream shop

Just fantastic!. Incredibly authentic Mexican food, in enormous portions, at rock-bottom prices. Don’t let the decor drive you off; this is some truly great Mexican food! It’s one of the few places I go anymore.

One burrito lasts all day. The best burrito I have ever had. I picked the special burrito with carne asada today. I could not finish it and for less than 5 dollars I was filled for the day. Even the beans in the burrito were very flavorful. Crowded at lunch and you have to wait in line but the 5 minute wait is worth it.
