A Surprise. Upon walking in, I was not expecting this place to have decent food. It’s looks very much like it is exclusively a bar. But surprise! the Mediterranean/Greek fare was truly impressive! Everything from the calamari to the hummus to the salads and soups was very well done…. and cheap! The bartender is awesome, too– went out of his way to accommodate us. Highly recommend!
Awesome food at an awesomer price!. I love this place! They obviously love food and it shows in the home made dishes. They make the pasta, falafel, and yogurt from scratch and they use bread from La Petite Provence down the street–yummmy! The beer and liquor selection is fantastic, with some beers I have never tried before, and the ambience is cozy and candlelit without being uppity or too hip. The staff is super friendly and the owner is there all the time so you know he is looking over the quality of the food. EVERYTHING I have ever had there is awesome. Loads of vegetarian delights. And the lamb is ORGANIC. Plus–happy hour all day Sunday and service industry discounts on Monday–need I say more?
Yummy food!. Some friends and I went there on a Saturday night.. it took a long time to get our food and the service was very slow.. a couple of orders were even forgotton. It was one guy serving the entire restaurant including doing drinks. Other than that, I loved the ambiance, and the food was delicious. Within our group we ordered the Gyros, Falafal, Hummus, and a Garbanzo Burger.. to top it off, we went during Happy Hour so the prices were even better than expected.. and everybody agreed that the food was absolutey amazing. I would totally go back again even if I knew it would be a long wait. Yum.
Great food for cheap. I discovered this place soon after they opened this summer… and got to enjoy their great patio. The patio’s closed now for the season (there’s still sidewalk seating where you can drink and smoke, if that’s your thing), but the inside is cozy and unpretentious. They have lots of comfy booths and some private nooks and corners. The bartenders are top-notch, as is the beer and booze selection. But the food is the real stand-out here. I don’t know how they can afford to keep prices so low! Entrees like this for $8-$10?! Maybe prices will go up once they get busier… all the more reason to check them out NOW.I was surprised to learn that they make many ingredients from scratch, even the pasta and yogurt, a fact which they don’t even mention on the menu. Perhaps they’re too humble to brag? The food is very Mediterranean/Greek influenced, and everything I’ve had is delicious. They have a few vegetarian entrees, including the best house-made veggie burger I’ve ever had. There’s only one pool table, but the equipment is all is good shape.Go check out The Hilt–I really want to see this place succeed.
A fairly new bar/ restaurant on Alberta. They serve their whole menu ’til late which has lots of yummy thing on it. Lots of vegetarian options(yay!!!) as well as plenty to keep those carnivores happy. The staff was friendly and efficient. We had a chance to meet the owner briefly, a very nice guy named Dimitri. Oh, and they have a pool table…. Will definitely go back again, very enjoyable!
Great Happy Hour, Food & Staff. Please, please, please go to this joint. Other ventures in this spot have failed in short order, but I want these guys to stick around for a long time. The food was delicious and the Greek cuisine is a welcome addition to the Alberta scene. The drinks were generous with a good selection of local brews on tap. The service was very friendly and attentive. Give it try and then go back some more 🙂
