Good food, well done. Oriental Garden is very consistent at what they do – good quality food at excellent prices served quickly and by friendly staff. The style of cooking they offer is not spicy or big flavors, but is consistently good and always more than we can (or should) eat. Egg rolls are old school and delicious (sorry, but we like the mushy filling!), fried rice is indeed bland and has little meat/veg in it, but that’s what I expect from this style of cooking. Subgum is super fresh and never overcooked, all of the deep fried dishes are done well and not greasy, and specialty items are very well executed – we love the beef with oyster sauce, szechuan green beans with any meat, mongolian beef or trio, cashew chicken, chicken ala oriental garden. Service is always good, and staff is always friendly – we do other styles of asian restaurants, but this one is our go to for a close to home comfort meal and never disappoints!
For Banks it is decent, HUGE portions but a bit bland on a couple dishes. The pork fried rice had slices of pork but nothing else and the hot and sour soup was bland. The egg rolls were the size of burritos and two meat dishes could feed four people. Since I live in SW Portland, I won’t be driving out to eat there but can eat there again.

The pork fried rice had very little pork,egg or green onions in it, White rice with a splash of soy. Some say the eggs rolls are excellent but that’s not true. They are crunchy on the outside but soggy on the inside, like they weren’t fully cooked.
