Best in the US. I have to admit that the transition to new a partnership I’ve had concerns (a couple of years now). Last evening I had a friend in from out of state. When he is in town, the Rock Creek Corner is our point of destination. We consider it our secret, though here I am writing, telling the world about it. The reason is very simple, the fried clams (Oh and the calamari) and good beer on tap. The clams are the BEST, as my friend said last night (he’s from Florida), they are the best he’s had traveling the US. I personally know a number of people that think the same. When my mother was alive I used to buy them, freeze em up and FedEx her dinner, she loved them. Last night Nick (part of the original ownership) made sure they were cooked perfect, with a Greek salad, along with a few fries and a pitcher of beer,, damn if your a clam lover, nothing could be finer. Imagine, 3 inch strips (size of a finger), lightly battered, with a touch of Greek seasoning, then fried just golden, at peak of tenderness, the juice of the clams filling your mouth. It can’t get no better. Thank you Nick! for keeping what I consider a tradition alive.
Home sweet home!. I have lived in this neighborhood for 3 years, I remember the first time I walked in to rock creek after a rough day on the Job hunt. The welcome I received that day from the staff and locals was such a boost to my spirit. I don’t get in there as often these days (work and family time obviously). but when I do it feels like walking in to into the living room, my favorite bartender (Molly) is so fabulous! The food is outstanding. Their Pizza will ruin you for any others! Their Greek salad is the best I have ever had! really there isn’t anything on the menu that is not above par. I take my kids here (the family dining area), its their first choice. I take visiting clients here for local flavor( when there tired of the stuffy, posh, hipster down town experience) they always remind me of the great time had there. We are never disappointed! I have to say i could live and die for their Creme Brulee.
Great Food!. Happened upon this place in a search for someplace different. Walked in to be greeted by friendly staff. We opted for sitting on the bar. Very clean. A few of the locals were there playing video games and pool or watching sports or movies. Cold Cold Beer. Full Bar. Now for the food..Hubby went for the Fresh Turkey Sandwich. They do their own there and homemade potato salad. He was in heaven. I took on a burger with Tillamook cheese and fries. Yummy handmade burger, homemade pickles, dressing was excellent. Nothing left on either of our plates. I had their iced tea to drink, which Yep you guessed it, they make there. That was the really kewl thing about this place, Fresh, Homemade and very friendly and inviting. We will be back. Put this one on your list of must visits.
Loved this place. We heard about this place from a friend or we would have driven right on by. It looks like a dive bar from the outside but once inside, it was heaven on a plate. We ordered the flat iron steak, turkey sandwich and the kids split spaghetti. All were fresh, tasted great and were the right portion. The dinner was good but dessert was what made this place awesome. We ordered the warm brownie and the fruit crisp, both were great and my son would have licked the plate clean had we let him.Highly recommend this place, the menu is basic but they use local products, everything is fresh and made from scratch. There is a wide variety and we will return on a Thursday for the homemade Chicken Pot Pie.
This was my second time in the Rock Creek Corner and both times experience poor service. The female bartender was very slow, paying more attention to her regular customers. The bar food is way over priced and the quality was poor. My suggestion…when a new customer comes in, dont be rude, treat them good and maybe they will return. I will not be back.
Great rustic atmosphere, great food, family friendly and awesome staff.
