A coworker and I stopped by the 60’s Cafe on our lunch hour. The theme, as the name suggests, is classic American diner. The inside is nicely decorated with nostalgia pieces and a number of large scale airplane replicas. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich (chicken breast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo) and selected fries for my side. It hit the spot; I’ve been cutting back on fried foods and burgers (fries not withstanding!), so I was pleased that the grilled chicken provided a healthier option. And about those fries- great. Perfectly breaded and crispy and I enjoyed them, the only downside being that I did not see any malt vinegar available. Our server was pleasant enough – not especially engaging but helpful. Service was quite fast, although there were very few visitors. I did not try the milkshakes but they had a nice looking selection. I would return.

Been here 3 times…. I could can see both sides of this argument. I’ve been here each time I’ve been to LC. The first time I got the bacon burger and it was one of the most amazing burgers I’ve ever had. Came back to LC and went right back to the cafe, got the same burger and was a bit disappointed. Yesterday, 7/12/14, decided to try ‘er again. I got the Jalepeno burger and it was great. The burgers are a nice cross between a Red Robin type burger and a home grilled burger. The establishment itself is a bit sketchy. Appropriately decorated for the theme but there are some interesting people that come in and out, and that work there. Anyway, I would go there again. Enjoy the beach!
