Diner from Sheridan, Oregon. We were die-hard Dory Cove fans before the original restaurant burned. Were very excited when the new place opened. We found the meals to be not quite what we were used to getting at the old location. Then, on one visit, I complained about the extremely salty chowder and the server told me that it depended on the cook as to how much salt went into the chowder. It was so salty, I could not eat it. Was not offered any options, did not eat the chowder and had to pay for it. That was a couple years ago. We finally went back 2 weeks ago. My husband had the chowder and loved it, I had the battered cod. It was gummy, chewy – not crisp at all. Had to peel the cod to be able to eat it. A big disappointment…again. It’s unlikely we will return.
