Weve eaten here many times and its always been good but this last visit goes down in history for the most disgusting restaurant experience of my life. While enjoying a cup of clam chowder I bit down on something that felt like cotton but tasted like an ash tray blew up in my mouth. Looking at it my husband and I immediately knew it was a cigarette butt. I still get nauseated just thinking about it. All the waiter said on our way out the door was – oh that is gross. What is happening back in that kitchen to make someone want to put a cigarette butt in the food? Makes you wonder what else is in that food. We will NEVER return – ever.
I absolutely loved their clam chowder soup! It’s outstanding and as good as any I’ve had up in Seattle. I went to two different McMenamins locations (Lincoln City & Bend) during my most recent trip to Oregon in July 2017 – Both had excellent service and food! I will definitely return when I am back in Oregonian territory!
As you walk in, the hostess says please seat yourself anywhere you want… Okay, great! We get a table next to the window and the waiter yanks our kids highchair and moves us way down the row and rudely says we are blocking the paths. Hmm, maybe tell us that when we walk in? Waiter had no care or intrest with us asking about the menu. The food was average. Customer service was terrible and the owner needs to instill some manners into their employees. Won’t eat there again.
