Worth the trip. If you’re lucky enough to live near Baristadors, then you probably already know about their well-crafted coffee drinks and delicious bagel breakfast sandwiches. If not, it is worth the trip. The guys who run Baristadors really seem to care about every cup of coffee they make, plus the service is friendly and without the attitude found at some other high-quality coffee houses. They also have a vintage Asteroids arcade game you can play for free, which I think is awesome. I just noticed that they got their liquor license last time I was in, so I may have to drag myself out of bed on Sunday to check out one of their mimosas with fresh-squeezed orange juice . Usually, I just sweet talk my husband into picking up sandwiches and coffees for us to enjoy at home, but as I mentioned, it’s probably worth the trip.
A Corner Cup of Optimism. As a recent graduate of a rigorous program from MSU, I have had the privilege of familiarizing myself with a gamut of coffee options (any concentrated source of consumable caffeine). Coffee is a delicate creature to tame, one that requires a delicate touch and sensible treatment, an expertise to prevent the condemnable act of burning beans or under roasting. Few places in Portland to which I have frequented have found as much success in this balance as at Baristadors; an incredibly friendly (in-and-out) cafe/sandwich shop where owners Nick and Gerrik really know their coffee. Made with the finest Stumptown beans available to offer, unlike many other shops, their standard fare is beautifully brewed with a French Press and served up piping hot (always a choice between a blend and a good single origin). The employees are all friendly as can be and although the atmosphere is more conducive for a quick Sandwich grab, or a short lunch break (no big chairs or comfy couches), the consumables make the difference (a range of bagel Sandwiches, in house made pastries and delicious beverages/milk-shakes etc.). Next time you might find yourself seeking out a good morning brew and a neighborly feel, stop in at Baristadors and experience for yourself, how coffee can and should be done.
Great coffee and service. A real coffee shop that cares about their quality and service. Great atmosphere and the double egg breakfast sandwiches are amazing!
Wonderful neighborhood coffee shop. Stumptown coffee, Prince Puckler’s ice cream, fresh local baked goods and their own specialty flavored whipped creams are just a few of the specialties served at Baristadors. The two owner’s (who are always there) are eager to please and go the extra mile to make sure they are serving the freshest and most flavorful coffee drinks and foods. Relaxing atmosphere.
