LOVE THE FOOD. We have eaten Mexican food in most of the towns we’ve traveled though, and find Don Miguel’s the very best quality for $. The lunch menu is the least expensive I’ve seen anywhere- we don’t go out for dinner so, can’t say about that. The food is very good, the margaritas excellent, service spot on and now the parking is good. I owned a Mexican food restaurant and can be very critical – I enjoy Don Miguel’s food/booze and service.Jenny T

So glad you’re back in Highland!. Olla! My family has lived in Highland since 1940, I so happy to have a quality, beautiful Mexican restaurant nearby!
These are the same folks who…… Brought us El Mirador on Lancaster DR. I was told they made the move due to a lease issue at the old location, but the name change was not explained. Their first day of operation was last Thursday. They’ve done a very nice cosmetic redecorating job on the building. Things do come full circle as Mexican was the venue’s original theme before it was Gambretti’s, Willamette Burger Co., MacGregor’s and then Hamilton’s. I think they’ve also re-sprung the seats in the booths which have been devices of torture all through the before mentioned eateries’ occupancy. I suffered no such posterior discomfort today. The menu says their cuisine in Jalisco style. I chose Camarones a la Diabla. The meal was very good. The sauce lived up to its name and had beads of perspiration sprouting from my forehead almost immediately. I came with the usual Beans, Rice and small Salad as well as 4 hot Four Tortillas. The price was $15.95, which is $3 to $8 more than I’ve paid for this dish in Salem but, I’ll admit, it was an excellent rendition. My server, Louisa, did a first rate job and made sure I wanted for nothing and that my rapidly emptying Ice Water glass was kept full.I wish the folks well on their new venture and hope that the move from a high visibility, easy parking spot on Lancaster Drive works out for them.
