I went to fetch coffee while my girlfriend at her hair appointment. I nearly drove by because the sign is slightly obscured by a tree. They are on the corner next to the YMCA in a cool old building.I got a couple of very good lattes to go and learned they’re the only shop in Salem serving Sisters Coffee Company but I forgot to ask what roast. My girlfriend was pleased when I returned with something hot to drink.It’s a nice big building with a lot of room spread out and you can reserve the big room too. Nice folks, good coffee & later hours on Friday & Saturday. I’ll be back when I’m in Salem.
Yummers!. First of all, I don’t usually eat out. Whenever fate brings me to the IKEbox I get an iced coffee, usually white mocha, or some other drink (all of which are great by the way). Sometimes I get a cinnamon roll or a muffin on the way. Last time I went there it was around noon, so I decided to try a quiche for the first time. I wanted the tomato and basil, but since they were out I decided to try the Spanish quiche. It was very yummy indeed! The jalepenos made it just that much better.Definitely recommend this place.
The Ike box has great coffee, friendly people, room to spread out, and an interesting atmosphere. I really enjoy this place and highly recommended trying it out if you’ve never been. You’re also supporting a great cause by purchasing their coffee and food rather than simply padding someone’s wallet. Support these guys!
Excellent! I love the baristas and atmosphere. The cofee kicks butt and the cookies aren’t so bad either. Also there is a slushy machine for the kiddos. Thr quality of coffee is great and its inexpensive. The ike box hosts events and is all about community. I love it!
Just keep it to coffee. Nice place to be able to meet and talk. Lots of comfortable space. Also comfortable to be there by yourself. Coffee is good.Got a breakfast burrito there. It’s a prepackaged thing that was microwaved. it was eatable, but not really food.So, just be aware that any food is some packaged deal.
Great for Groups!. Ike box is great for groups to meet! The Salem Area Ravelers (knitting group) has been meeting there for over a year, and Ike Box has been so accommodating. If there is a show they let us move to a different part of the building, and have always been very happy to help us. The barista’s are always friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced compared to other shops downtown. The food menu has been growing over the last few months, and now includes burritos, quiche, lasagna, pita and hummus plates, and the typical coffee shop pastries.
