I thought it would be in…………. The historic old church. Most of their locations we’ve visited are housed in historic residences, schools or buildings. We followed the signs and found the restaurant in a newish strip mall behind the church. I’m not sure what the story is behind this deviation. The interior is retro mountain lodge and nicely done. The room was cold. This may be to discourage lounging long after a meal is completed. Time is money, you know. Our server, Lacy, was perky and energetic but presented a bill for nearly $30 when I knew ours should have been $18.45! Closer inspection revealed that it was not our bill at all. I wonder how many folks had over a credit card and sign without ever looking at the check! Plenty, I would guess. The food was good, as we’ve come to expect from these places. SWMBO had a Greek Pizza with Goat Cheese, Lamb and several other ingredients which now escape me. The Crust was more like Pita Bread than Pizza Crust. The result was delicious. ($8.95) I had their Roadhouse Chicken Sandwich which was a big Breast Filet dowsed with their Hot Sauce, heaped with Bleu Cheese Crumbles and Thinly Sliced Red Onion. I subbed a Garden Side Salad for the Fries. The Bun was good, but not up to the task, rendering the whole deal a knife and fork proposition after just a couple of bites. I am accustomed to this on big Sandwiches. We’ve found any McMenamins to be a safe bet and have never run into a blooper.

50 / 50. First night bartender served us was amazing service and food was good. 2nd time waitress was completely useless, at least food was good. Our waitress was knowledgable but lacking personality, they have free movies on sunday – tuesday (with full menu), live music, the bar below the church is a full bar, but the menu is limiting.Updates: First off I’ve heard they canceled the live music, I also happen to know 1 night it was open till 1 am then literally the next night I went at 11 pm and with no warning to the public at all they decided they weren’t going to open past 11 anymore. Also they changed their ketchup to some weird foofoo organic hippy healthy pretend ketchup water disguised thing. I can’t call it ketchup because it was like water oozing out, it was so gross. It was like sugar water and dye, just totally ruined the burgers, don’t know why anyone would get rid of one of the most beloved ketchups in America, just sad really. Also every single McMenamins has 100% different menu, so I’ve heard rumors there’s one in Beaverton that’s actually outstanding. The church was a nice redo tho, worth seeing once.10 Sep, 2011Whoever added this has never been because there is no American food on the menu sans burgers. It’s all international faire, mostly spicey or Irish pub like. It’s not bad and it’s the only bar in town with constant live band music. Worth a try you may like it tho it’s been super busy right now since it barely just opened.

Finally got fed and food was good, pizza and a black and white salad to share..I’d have it again..11 Sep, 2011Do not sit outside at tables closest to church..stinks like garbage! Waited for food for, yes im not kidding..1hr.45min!! Our waiter was nice and gracious. The music was fun and just right outside! I think their working things out, but I’m hungery!
