Qrkt88. What a hidden gem….. We have been here four times and it has all been WONDERFUL!!!! This place is amazing. We have had everything from sandwiches to veal dinners. The waitress is great. We actually have sat at the same table. She noticed this last time and made a comment That was a nice feeling. She remembered us. The owner is always there (a plus). Our family of 4 plus grandma. We all were trying something different. It was a variety veal parm, chicken parm , veal piccata and chicken carbonara . Need less to say a lot of left overs. This is our new birthday dinner place. Love it! Can’t wait until the June birthday!

Great Italian Italian Restaurant with Hometown Feel. A very nice eatery with kind staff and good food. Everyone is made to feel at home at this cozy place. You will never leave hungry! A very pleasant experience. Even good music to enhance the atmosphere. Beans and Greens, pasta carbonara, chicken cutlet and house salad were outstanding. Great service as well…very attentive to your needs. Will definitely return soon. A nice diversion from the usual places.22 Apr, 2015Greens and Beans. Wonderful mix of italian beans and greens…tasty and filling.

Great food quality with large portions.. Party of four , all were very satisfied with the taste and quality of their menu selection. A bit pricey, however when you consider the large portions (enough for a second meal) and their BYOB policy with no corkage charge, the price becomes very reasonable.

Some like it HOT!. They just couldn’t get it right! We had dinner there 2 nights this week (we wanted to give them a 2nd chance) and in every instance, each course came out lukewarm at best. The 2nd night we sent 3 of 4 main courses back to have them warmed up. They came back no warmer than when originally served. The kitchen is not far from the tables; so why is it so difficult to serve food HOT? Either the kitchen staff is poorly trained or they do not have the appropriate kitchen equipment to adequately cook each meal. I’ll also note that on both nights the restaurant was not that crowded. As for the food, the fettuccine carbonara was very dry; and no better after being returned to the kitchen to be corrected. The grilled chicken was overcooked and dry, too. The first night, it took at least 5 – 7 minutes between the first main course being served to the last main course to be served at the table. The 2nd night, the appetizers, salads and main courses were served within minutes of each other, always cool to lukewarm, indicating very little coordination between the kitchen and service staff. It is a local restaurant with local owners and I hope they stay in business long enough to get it right.

1905 Eatery review. Four of us had Valentines Day reservations for dinner. Seated promptly at 8:00 PM. Surprised by 4 course special menu for Valentines day. Which was fine for Valentine’s day. Waited 15 minutes for our 4th wine glass because they were in the dishwasher. Waiter returned back to the table four times because he couldn’t get our dinner order right. All four courses brought out within 10 minutes of each other and two of the Entrees were sent back twice because they were cold. Not to mention the Blast of cold air that came thru the door every time someone entered. All for $220.00. Never again!!15 Feb, 2015Valentines Day Dinner. Wonderful food & family atmosphere. My family and I have been picking up various dishes from here since the restaurant opened, however, I had never actually eaten inside. Tonight my dad and I dined in, and not only were we provided with delicious, authentic Italian cuisine, we also recieved outstanding service. The eatery’s clean and open design, in conjunction with its kitchen full of friendly people and impeccable food truly establishes itself as one of Pittsburgh’s treasures.

Very good! I loved the greens and beans, and they use bread works bread. The tortellini soup reminded me of egg drop, because it is just broth and tortellini. They tortellini are excellent, but the broth was very, very salty. The marinara sauce is very tasty. The meatballs have good flavor, but are a little tough and dense. I had fettuccine Alfredo, and the sauce was just ok. Maybe the leftovers will taste better tomorrow, once it sits. Overall, I was happy with 1905 and I will be back.
