Have gone here regularly over the years. Salmon salad is a regular meal for me. Tonight the greens showing were browned ends of iceberg. Darker greens were limp. The salmon was undercooked. The music was too loud. Couldn’t carry on a conversation in the regular part of the restaurant.

After a very bad nose-dive, the O’Hara (it is NOT in Fox Chapel) Atria’s is back to VERY GOOD!

Agreeing with others, yes, it seems Atria’s is changing……..and not for the better. It used to feel more elegant, more comfortable, more upscale. Now it only has upscale pricing. Obviously, they are changing their decor because they’ve taken their drapes down. Personally, I liked the drapes. It gave it the more elegant feeling. Changing the decor is not the answer. Work on the menu! There are a few items I like: the salmon is good, the burgers are good (but not for $10), the crab bisque soup. But there really isn’t anything to choose if you’re trying to eat healthy. The desserts are huge and not anything special. You can get those same things anywhere. And after a huge dinner, who can eat that? I’ve seen many people ask to look at the dessert menu but set it aside and decline. There is so much opportunity there to sell desserts and yet they pay no attention to the dessert menu. Offer something light, something smaller, just a little sweetness to satisfy the palette after dinner. The service is OK. Sometimes good, sometimes not. We had a server on Saturday evening that was great. She knew the menu, she answered all our questions, she was attentive, she looked neat & clean….I don’t know how in those long sleeved white shirts, she had to be overheated! I’ve seen times when the servers white shirts didn’t look very good, but I’m sure it’s very difficult to keep them clean when you’re working with food. A long-sleeved white shirt is a poor choice for a restaurant uniform.

Olive Garden, Chili’s, Whatever. If Olive Garden, Chili’s, or those other types of places are your style of food, I’m sure you’ll like Atria’s.But for me, I’d rather just slap together a ham sandwich than spend the money and caloric intake here. To each his own.

  • Will NOT Be Fooled Again

First and LAST visit here. Today I dined at Atria’s on Freeport Road for the first time. The place was beautifully decorated for the holidays and our small group was seated promptly. So far, so good…Unfortunately, most of the recent reviews are very accurate. Because the place was crowded when we were there, it took an inordinate amount of time (almost an hour) for our food to arrive and then it was lukewarm at best. The waitperson did her best to keep us supplied with water, iced tea & other cold drinks, but for heaven’s sake please train them NOT to reach across in front of one person with a pitcher of water to fill the second person’s glass! An excessive wait for mediocre lukewarm food, delivered by a waitperson with a surly attitude and poor training is NOT a good combo – will never dine here again!

  • Truth Through Food

Get Real. This place sports a nice Applebee’s-inspired menu, varying from babyback ribs to seafood linguine to miso-glazed salmon. The atmosphere is nice, the location in Fox Chapel is conveniently placed in the middle of a wealthy neighborhood. The clientele is senior citizens and suburbanites without tastebuds. If you care about food or care about value for food, I would recommend eating elsewhere.
