I ordered a BYOB that was supposed to be rare. I know what a rare burger looks like. What I received was not rare. I also ordered this Poutine as well. Parts of it are clearly burned. There were also fries that werent fully cooked. I know these are fresh cut that are then deep fried and then heated with the cheese (which I only had a few pieces of in this). I do not know how this was allowed out of the restaurant. I had this delivered and did not want to be rude by calling them about it, so I just did not eat what was burned (which was quite a bit). I honestly wish I would have been at the restaurant so I could have either asked for most of my meal to be remade, or at least been there to actually tell them what mistakes they had made.

Awful service. Food came out wrong. A burger ordered medium came old cold in the middle. Waitress never even came back to check on us to make sure our food was good or see how we were doing. It’s a shame because the place is cute and I’ve heard good things.

Spot on every time! Yes, you might have to wait on a weekend but that’s ok! The servers are great and very knowledgeable. Been here many times and food is always perfect. You are getting what you pay for! I recommend trying the beer sampler as it is not expensive and a great way to sample 4. Highly recommend the fire in the hole burger and he fries with the cheese whiz with truffle oil! Shakes are good too!

BRGR has a place in the land of burgers. Focused menu. Lots of different ways to have a burger or sandwich. Price is not too much. Good selection of drinks. I had a build your own bison burger with mushrooms smoked cheddar and mustard aioli. Outstanding. The service was acceptable for a packed restaurant. We were served quickly and professionally. I’ll be back again.

Horrible service. On a night with very few people in the restaurant, we received the slowest service I have experienced in quite some time. What was the result of terrible service? A 20% gratuity added to our bill. Ridiculous. There is a lot of competition in the specialty burger business these days. This restaurant needs to understand that.

Good and somewhat unique burgers, but really greasy appetizer. BRGR opened in the Galleria some months ago and we tried to get there to try it out on a few occasions. It really hits a nerve in the South Hills as we have encountered wait times of between 90 minutes to three hours (!!) and consequently changed our minds. Nonetheless, we were still curious so on a recent Friday night, we went there at about 5 PM and were told that it was only a 30 minutes wait. Sold! The restaurant has signed up with a mobile service that texts you when your table is ready so we wandered around the mall checking out stuff in various stores until about 40 minutes passed and then meandered back to the restaurant. Once there we were told we were still on the list, but the expected turnover did not take place as some people were still sitting at their tables after having paid their bills. It was only about 10 more minutes before we were called and were led to our table – which was a high table in the bar area.Once seated, we were very well treated by our server who was very knowledgeable about the menu and was willing to spend the time with us required to answer all of our questions. This is notable because the place was obviously packed and he had to take care of multiple tables. I watched him for a bit and noticed that he did this with all the tables he oversaw. Nice touch and since there was no impact on speed of getting our food, I wish more servers were as good as Michael is.The space is on the second floor of the mall and had several iterations of restaurants in it include a Japanese steak house, a tex-mex place and a barbecue steak joint. It was completely redone on the inside and is now more modern looking with brass and wood accents everywhere. One of the things that I noticed was that the seating areas were much smaller than the previous iterations and I asked my server about that. He told us that they took away some of the seating areas to create storage areas for the restaurant but did not change the kitchen at all. This is a shame as the kitchen is supposedly small and may have problems dealing with the heavy customer demand. The menu features burgers and shakes. Yes, this is the same formula as Burgatory. There are some differences of course as the combinations that are offered on the menu differ, but essentially, this is a burger restaurant and that’s what you’re going to get there. We chose to try two different (very different!) burgers on our first visit and since they do not come with any sides (those are ordered separately) decided to share an appetizer of the fried Mushrooms and Zucchini. The burgers we chose was the Mushroom burger and the vegetarian Falafel patty. There is also a full bar on the premises and consequently a wine list which features wines by the glass as well as ten beers and bottles of wine. Our server suggested that one appetizer would be enough for us both and offered to have each burger cut in half as we mentioned that we would be sharing everything. We were therefore not too surprised when a waitress appeared with a large tray full of food. What did surprise us was that each of us got a half burger on separate plates, and what looked like a lot of the appetizer on separate plates! All in all, she dropped off six plates of food on the table. Luckily this was a table that normally seats four so there was just barely enough room for everything. (Oh, I forgot to mention before that the tables in the bar area are on the small side!). Our server came over and seemed annoyed and when we asked him about it told us that they gave us two full appetizer portions. He quickly added that we would not be charged for their mistake. Another positive point for Michael! On the table were four plastic squeeze bottles with condiments in them. One was obviously ketchup and the other mustard, but the other two were different. One tasted like mayo with some paprika in it while the final one tasted like a really fascinating honey mustard but had whole grains of mustard and fruity chunks as well. Michael told us that the one was their house may with a hot sauce mixed in (it was NOT spicy) while the other is their spicy whole grain mustard with mango. You could use them on the burgers or fries, or whatever else your ordered. Since the appetizer we ordered came with another service of the mayo, we dipped some the zucchini and mushrooms in both to determine which we liked. Clearly the winner was the whole grain mustard which was excellent. The burgers did not really need any additional condiments as they were loaded with all kinds of different ingredients that made sure they were not too dry. The mushroom burger had some sort of cheesy topping, while the falafel and black bean patty has its own combination of additional items. Frankly, both were very good. They both came on a brioche bun which glistened and the whole thing was tasty and fun to eat. Good points for the burgers and we are eager to try some of the other combinations offered there as well. The biggest disappointment of the evening was the appetizer. Both the mushrooms and zucchini were covered in very thick coatings of breading and were deep fried to the point of becoming greasy. With so many restaurants in this area having figured out how to make light and non-greasy zucchini shavings as good appetizers, these were terrible. We cut some of the mushroom pieces in half and looked at the cross section and I would swear that 80 percent of the thickness was due to the breading! Thank goodness for the mustard condiment as it cut the greasy texture and mouth feel down enough for us to eat some.We will definitely be going back as there were several more on the menu that looked very very interesting, and then you can also create your own. However we will NOT be getting that appetizer ever again!
