Downey House is great Italian comfort food. The hot Banana Peppers stuffed with Sausage is a delicious appetizer and makes a good lunch. This is a go-to for my wife and I for a low key dinner. Interior is a bit worn but the staff is friendly and the food is good.

Seafood Bisque Soup. Filled with seafood, thick creamy rich broth with a hint of ‘sweet’ spice.20 Aug, 2014Friday Fish Sandwich. BIG plate full of breaded, fresh fish, hearty roll and a pile of addictive fries.20 Aug, 2014GREAT Hometown Food & Family. If you like fresh and home cooked food, juicy burgers, cold beer and hanging out with ‘family’, then Downey’s is a must. It is the go-to place for Friday Seafood Bisque, Fish, fresh salads, and pepperoni rolls like you have never tasted. We like it so much, we setup a monthly ‘Friday Night Supper Club’ for a group of friends who always have a great meal. If you want a favorite neighborhood bar and restaurant offering indoor and outdoor music, good drinks and a warm welcome, ya gotta check this out!

Food is so-so; entire place smells. Had lunch there a couple of times. The food was ok – nothing to rave about. My biggest complaint is the whole place has a bad odor.UPDATE: Tried it again and while the smell is gone, the barmaid is still rather unfriendly and rude.

I’m never one to complain but I just had such high hopes for this place and gave it two chances! my first visit was for my boyfriends 32nd birthday we wanted something a little mellow with good drink prices and not a dive. my friend told me they had happy hour from 9-midnight, perfect! this place had about 5 people at the bar and it took way too long to be greeted and another 15 to ask what we wanted to drink. we were first timers but him and I both got the vibe that others were being served and greeted before us. finished our drink and left. the 2nd time the hostess told us it would be a 20 minute wait with empty tables visible everywhere? hmm? disappointed.

Love this place! My friend took me here for the first time 3 years ago and I’ve been back at least once a week since. Great deck, great beer selection, pepperoni rolls are amazing, and food in general is great. Leigh Ann and Denny are wonderful bartenders, always putting on the buccos for us. Thanks for being an amazing place for us to come hang!

Great food, even better service. Tony, the manager, was very nice. Will definitely be back!
