A Penn Hills Gem. I have been eating here for years. My family and my husband’s family are all Italian, so we are picky about our Italian. Pasqualino’s, or Pizza Palace as it’s know to the locals, is great Italian food.I honestly have not eaten anything here that I did not love. Even the chicken fingers I got for my child were delicious and hand-breaded.The crab cake medusa is delicious — big, thick chunks of crabmeat atop homemade spinach linguine with a light alfredo sauce. Their soups are also fantastic, as are the homemade chocolate chip cookies. However the star of their show are their stuffed shells. I have never eaten a better stuffed shell in my life — not even my own homemade shells are as good. The cheese is dense and stringy and just perfect. The spinach stuffed shells are even more delicious than the original. Their marinara sauce is perfect — bold tomato flavor and not overly seasoned. A small dinner includes two shells, a large roll, a huge meatball and a container of Locatelli parmesean cheese. The only things that did not impress me are the meatballs. They don’t taste as authentic and delicious as the other offerings, but they are still good. I am very picky about meatballs.I haven’t eaten the pizza in years but don’t remember it being outstanding. However, my husband loves it.
