Best around?. OK OK, normally I write about resturants that serve a beer with dinner. However, this is a take-out review. Get your food and drink a nice beer at home. So, how is the food? Well, it’s American Chinese food and I just happened to love food American Chinese food. The red tea house may just be the best Chinese food in the area. I was always under the thought that China Town Inn was the best. Not any more. The Red Tea is the place to be.
The service was excellent and the staff is very friendly and kind. However, I didn’t like the food. I got cheese wontons, which had kind of a mozzarella cheese without much flavor instead of the traditional cream cheese. I also got a Philly roll, which tasted ok, but looked a little sloppy and there wasn’t that much salmon in it. I also got a volcano roll (I believe). It was not good at all! I only ate one piece. I took the rest home because I felt bad, but I threw it in the dumpster :(. Maybe their other menu items, like the hot cooked food, are better. I’ll come back and give them another try.
Blah. Had delivery for first time tonight. In a nutshell, I won’t be ordering from again. I’ll stick with what I know from now on, green Garden is much better and right down the road. The Lo Mein had no flavor.
Delicious food – very friendly staff!!. We’ve been to the Red Tea House twice in the last 2 weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed the food. From shrimp to chicken to bean curd, everythingwas delicious. The people who work there are very nice and make you feel welcome. Would highly recommend this restaurant – the food is great,prices are good and the decor is clean and comfortable.
Happy New Year!. This was our first time back to The Red Tea House (formerly the Sichuan House) since the name change and renovation. Since it was Chinese New Year, we stopped in, and we had the Scallion Pancakes, General Tso’s Tofu, and Moo Shu Vegetables. The food was good and the service was great. The place looks a lot nicer now too.
Awesome. It is a Christmas…. Awesome. It is a Christmas tradition for us to eat here Christmas Day. Next year we will make a reservation as it was packed. My husband and I usually get sushi or crab Rangoon and then we share a rice dish. Best chicken fried rice around town. Portions are large and family style for sharing. Service is great which is a plus.
My wife and I frequent this place every few weeks. It’s solid and the family that owns it and runs it is very friendly. Tonight we had orange chicken and wontons in spicy peanut sauce. Both dishes were very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. It’s BYOB and a nice quiet atmosphere. It’s also very reasonable. We dine out often and highly recommend it.
