What a RippOff. I believe in second chances. Restaurant field is not easy I know. 2 months ago Ray gave me an unspeakable attitude just because I had a special request on a large pie. So I just left.Today the had the nerves to sell me a reheated burnt pie for over $11.00. What kind of business sells old food. This time lesson learned. When I called them back to let them know about the old reheat they had the nerves to call me back to harass me on my own phone. My phone records clearly shows how they called me back a couple of times.I know wonder if I should call the police.05 Dec, 2014Attitude. Expect nothing but attitude. Starting with the young girl that obviously does not want to be there. I asked politely how I would like my pizza done. I was given an annoyed face and a rude comment back. Lucky for me there are 4 other pizzeria in the neighborhood. I have been a waiter for 14 years. I know the food industry well.

I have been with Ray’s since the beginning when they first opened up in 1990. Two brothers opened it up, and till this day, 2013, the same two brothers still own and operate Ray’s. They use fresh ingredints and make sure every single bite is packed with great flavor. The service their is great and the people are very polite and friendly. Sometimes they do make mistakes, but they are people just like us and they make mistakes just like we do, so we have to forgive and forget because they still have great food! They have it all pizza, calzones, strombolies, subs, wraps, gyros, sandwiches, burgers, fried apetizers, dinners and a huge veriety of bevrages to choose from including beer! The delivery drivers are very kind and try their best to get your food to you as soon as possible which can be hard at times because they get really busy on some days. Everything at Ray’s is fresh and packed with flavor, They get freshly baked bread in everymorning, they use freshly grated cheese, the make their own fresh pizza and marinara sause, cut and marinate their own own fresh chicken, they make their own home made sausage and meatballs, and more! I liked Ray’s in the beginning because it was a small family owned pizza place who did i right not like dominos or pizza hut, and they really got me attatched to they place its the same it was 23 years ago and even better, over the years Ray’s has provided Allentown and Bethlehem quality food and they have built a love for thier customers and their customers have built a love for them. They have seen little kids come in that are now in their 30s that have kids of their own that are still coming their. Overall Ray’s pizza is a great pizza place that provides awsome food with wonderful service and if you havent checked them out you should it will change your life! Love you Ray’s keep up the good work!
Authentic Cheese Steak. Ray’s makes the best Cheese Steak Sandwich. I can’t find anything like it outside of Pennsylvania. The sauce is divine. Their onion rings are yummy too! The dining room is kind of a dive, but if you want an authentic Philly Cheese Steak, this is the place to go! (Take out, if you don’t like the dining area.) They deliver, too!
I really want to like Ray’s…. But I don’t. I have only had delivery and have not dined in the actual restaurant though so perhaps the restaurant experience is different. I have had the stuffed shells, veggie pizza, regular two topping pizza, antipasto salad, cheese fries, and garlic knots in the three times I have ordered. I don’t like pickled vegetables, and that was the bulk of the vegetables they used on the pizza and antipasto. i could see having some on the salad, but it was almost all of the veggies except for the lettuce. As for the pizza, I have come to expect fresh vegetables on pizza, so that might just be me, but the (slightly burnt on the bottom) crust, almost nonexistent cheese left me disappointed. A pepperoni olive pizza was alright, still not impressed by the crust though. Garlic knots are soft (not incredibly garlic-y though), fries are decent, stuffed shells were fine, but I found the sauce just a little too acidic and bland for my taste. I think I have given this restaurant a fair shot, but will have to move on…
Best bets at Ray’s: French Fries (AMAZING fries), cheeseburger sub, cheesesteaks. Also, try a large pizza with onions, bannana peppers and shredded steak. This is the best pizza in all the land.
