I was pleasantly surprised with our dinner here Saturday night at Rudy’s! We were greeted with smiles and seated in a very nice dining room. The atmosphere is casual with families making up the clientele. This is a great family restaurant and a good choice for a date night. The menu is large and has a variety of entree choices. I decided on the open face hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. This is a typical item found on diner menus but I have to say this was the best one I’ve had! I also ordered the Peach Sangria and that was very good too. The waitress apologies for the long wait for our drinks, there was a large party going on but the wait wasn’t actually that long. The fajitas that were coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled fantastic and I can’t wait to return and give one a try. jackieskitchn.com
I have been passing Rudy’s in my travels for some time now, and decided to stop in for lunch. Noticing they had a full bar, I decided to order the Bloody Mary featured on the cocktail list. Sadly, this was very disappointing. I am not sure what type of mix they use, but it tasted like tomato juice with some hot sauce in it. It needed horseradish and more seasoning. For my meal, I ordered the chicken gyro. Based on the drink, my expectations were a bit low, however, the gryo was delicious. Accompanied by sweet potato fries, everything was well prepared and tasty. I am not sure I will be rushing back to Rudy’s, but it was a decent stop for a quick lunch.
