Last evening my wife and I dined at Thai Thai II, Main St., Bethlehem. This is a BYOB establishment. We ordered the calamari appetizer which was very good. I had the Red Curry Duck which was excellent. Unfortunately my wife ordered the Seafood Fried Rice. It consisted of 2 shrimp, 2 scallops and 7 mussels on a huge mountain of rice. Believe it or not, there were 4 mussels that were not opened. What chef worth his salt would plate an entree with 4 unopened mussels? Out of curiosity, I pried open one of these mussels and it was definitely spoiled. Needless to say, we were disgusted with this situation and will definitely be looking for another restaurant featuring Asian cuisine.
Orders to go service is Terrible…. Tried making a large company order last week and when we showed up the order wasnt even put in. So we cancelled the order in person since our employees were not going to wait another hour for their lunches. Then about an hour and half later we got a call that our order was ready… sadly to say we already went some place else and got food (terrible communication between their staff) . We did however get a call from the owner/manager and they apologized and gave a discount for our next order. We appreciated this and realize that human mistakes happen.So today (5 days after the previous order) we tried again on the good faith of the owner/manager from last week. We did get in touch with thai thai and verified the order and they said it would be ready at 12:15. Once we arrived on time, we were told they were just finishing up packing, thats cool. 12:30 rolls around… still nothing. At 12:45 I finally get asked if I want to pay for my order while waiting… i do so and am told yet again that the order is being packed up and is almost done. I did not receive the order until 1:10… almost an entire hour later then we were told to pickup the order. This was beyond frustrating because the woman up front was not honest with me about the order… all while my car sits in the loading zone with my hazards on hoping that I would not get a parking ticket). The worst part is, the lady at the front register told me to give them an hour at least to fullfil the order next time as I exited… i didnt respond in disbelief and just said thank you. But as my story told… we gave well over an hour and a half (we verified the order at 11:30am) and they set the pickup time (we even faxed the order in at 10:30am). We will not be taking our company orders here ever again… and it is a shame too because their food is delicious.Incredibly disappointing…
