Thumbs Down for this Expensive Yet Not-So-Classy Place. The food was good BUT for an expensive restaurant that seems like it wants to be classy there was just a lot wrong. The glasses were dirty and foggy. The ‘cup’ of soup that comes with a dinner meal was served in the smallest coffee cup. I asked the waitress if all the seafood dishes listed on the menu come served over pasta and she said yes. there were about 3 of us that ordered seafood dishes, and when the dishes came out, none of them came over pasta. My mother ordered a fried shrimp platter – and it DID come with a soup or salad to start – but for the price you would think it comes with a vegetable side or over past or something… it was served as 6 fried shrimp on a small plate. It was kind of sad and embarrassing on Lombardozzi’s part to serve that and even call it a meal. Just seems like for the prices of items on their menu that this restaurant is cheap. We had six people and the tables that were pushed together did not sit flush. I had the unfortunate luck of sitting in the middle where the tables met. I spilled my drink because I put my drink down in the wrong spot. The server was a younger woman and she kept calling my mother ‘hun’. I know there is nothing specifically wrong with that, but my mom felt it was rude. To also note about the staff, I felt their attire was all wrong… the manager came out to talk to us and was wearing a zip up sweatshirt. I would NEVER go here again.
Worst Ever. Waited over 2 hours for food! Then they didn’t have 3 peoples dinners until the rest of us were done. When we complained, they were rude! Tortellini with pine nuts had literally 3 pine nuts. Rude staff, awful service, average to bad food. NEVER AGAIN!
Good lunch buffet. I do not think their lunch buffet is the best in the world but for 8 bucks it is a great deal. The place is 1970’s decor with very good service. The soup is included but is served separately. There are only about 9 items on the buffet table with several deep fried items. The desserts are thin cuts of mediocre sheet cake. The soups however are very good. I am generally not a pasta person but I tried the spaghetti and had two helpings. Compared to the other Italian restaurants in the area this lunch buffet is a great bargain (especially when compared to Del’s which has mediocre food, higher prices and a crazy lady manager.
The chicken parm is the best around!
Super small party place. We had rehearsal dinner here. Perfect private room for 30 people. Delicious buffet with gnocchi, chicken marsala, and roast beef. Very nice people who were super easy to deal with.
Great restaurant. Was in town for college football game recently…too bad my Rutgers got wiped out but did have a fantastic meal after the game at Lombardozzi’s. I am used to good italian food from the NYC NJ area but I was surprised at the quality of the ravioli and fresh pastas our table ordered. Hot stuffed peppers were great too. NIce people there all around, too.Go with a friend’s recommendation all the time.
The trout was full of bones with the skin left on and the broccoli was old. The salsalmon alberti was spiced funny. I would go to Dells or Alexander’s
