During my latest visit, the food and service were outstanding. I admit that I’ve only been here a handful of times, but I have always been impressed. I particularly like their spanokopeta. I could eat just that. Perhaps someday I will. The lamb stuffed grape leaves are also amazing.My main course was a chicken kazaam kabob. It was grilled well, but still juicy. The Egyptian spices is a little cinnamon-y. Everyone at the table kept asking for more samples of my entree. I have also tried the lamb and filet kabobs and they have been delicious as well.A member of our party ordered a salmon special. It isn’t normally found on the menu as far as I know. The salmon had two different sauces, one of them was a mint sauce. I’m not a big fan of salmon normally, but this was great.
We. Love. Amel’s. This place is a hidden Pittsburgh gem. The food coming out of the kitchen is gourmet. We love the Chicken Taboo, Chicken Tangier, Fattoush Salad, any of the seafood options – especially their salmon preparation, and are always on the look out for their seasonal menus. Regular take out spot, too. Highly recommend!
