It used to be good. The moonlight used to be so good! Until they closed their back dining room and then re-opened it with huge pool tables, absolutely no lighting, and 50 big screen TV’s. They also cut the menu down and I want to just let you know now that everything on there is a la carte and way more expensive. You don’t even get pasta with your chicken parmigiana, its extra and there’s nothing on the menu telling you it doesn’t come with it like it used to. I’m extremely disappointed and will never be back. Our waitress was great though, I felt bad for her having to deal with our complaints about the changes, but come on Moonlight, what are you doing??
This restaurant has clearly been downgraded at some point. The menu listed here is NOT what the restaurant serves (see the Cafe’s website for the drastically small selection). The Parmigiana is not fresh at all. Our chicken and veal (highly questionable veal at that) were coated in a heavy and tasteless batter. It was clearly frozen. Same goes for the provolone wheel which was brought to the table 5 minutes after ordering with obvious signs of freezer burn. I’ve been wanting to try all the places in my new neighborhood so we gave this a shot despite walking through the bar first to a room with pool tables and dining tables. We would have left had the waitress not been sweet and we had enough cash to cover our drinks and a tip. We stuck it out and left very disappointed with no intention to return.
A Great Place to Be. Currently Brookline Blvd is under construction, however don’t let that make you pass on this place. When you go down the alley to the door that leads into the dinning room don’t let the outdated decor fool you, this place really is a treat. I have tried a couple different things on the menu, however i recommended getting the specials. I have had everything from noci with sausage to a bison burger and everything has been top notch. If you are in the bar area or not looking for a full meal the wings are really good as well. The service has always been outstanding and it’s fairly inexpensive.
Mmmm…Moonlite!. My husband and I live in Brookline, and we really enjoy going out to eat at the Moonlite. Good Italian food, reasonably priced, good service, and I really like that their bar is now non-smoking. I was invited to a going away gathering for a coworker there this year and it was nice to be able to enjoy and not get stifled by smoke! I especially love their fried zucchini platter, it is wonderful!
They have this sandwich called Veal Chu Chu. It’s seasoned veal cutlets along with sauteed mushrooms, onions and banana pepper rings on some kind of focacia bread with provolone cheese. You can opt out of the banana pepper rings if you don’t dig spicy. I don’t know what they do but it is to die for! They also have great wedding soup. Always try to hit them up for lunch when i’m driving out of the city. Been going there for years and am always greeted by the same friendly waitress. She happens to be a fan of the same sandwich. I hope I turn someone else on to this gem of a sandwich.
Food was average, service was awful. The place was half full and our server was completely overwhelmed, it took her a long time to greet us and even longer to ger our food and drinks .we had to wait an eternity for our check even after we asked several people for it.
Not to shabby. I actually like the food here. everything i have ever had has been good. i recoment the house zetti. although the food is good and fairly priced the decor here is way out dated and in dier need of some up dating
